"That's the way I see it. Great post. We Us City are very near dining with the big boys. How many times have I said (in my head), how much for x when Real Step in

To be the best you have to pay. I can have fillet steak which is fucking gorgeous.

if it's from a bull at the RSPA that has been twatted on a cattle train.

Yet Wagu beef is fucking massaged and eats grass that has been grown for them

The difference is minimal but percentages do matter

...he and the boss have had a falling out.

...we're still losing one of our starting 11 to a rival

If Walker has incurred the displeasure of the manager, to the extent that Pochettino no longer wants him in the squad, then we aren't "losing" him, we're "selling" or "cashing in" or "getting rid" of him. That was my whole point.

I think Walker is a very good right back. Although I'm looking forward to enjoying Trippier's crosses and assists, I'm also expecting to see a number of situations where we really miss Walker's pace and athleticism.

But it's not my team. It's Pochettino's team. There seems to be plenty of circumstantial evidence that the club hierarchy is relaxed about him leaving and has even encouraged it. If that is the reality, then the narrative about "losing" Walker and the cliché of him "having his head turned" are not relevant, they're just auto-pilot stereotypical responses and they're inaccurate.

Quite a few of us were pretty upset about selling Lennon. But we we weren't "losing" him either. Nor Kaboul and Adebayor and the other players who didn't meet Pochettino's standards with regard to character and team harmony.

It doesn't seem to occur to anyone outside Spurs that we are selling Walker because we want to. Even a high proportion of SC members are acting as if we are being bullied or pressurised into selling against our will. I can't imagine where, except assumptions based on history, that is coming from.

Without a shred of hard evidence, only mood and tone of voice, it has nevertheless been plain to me for months that the club, or at least Pochettino, is at least as keen to see Walker leave as he is to beef up his bank account at Man City's expense.

@Gaz_Gammon was raining heavy hints to this effect a couple of months ago, but no one really picked up on any of it and he never provided any proper details.

So we don't know why, because the club doesn't leak the way it used to. So this side of the tale seems, for want of gossip, not to have shown up on anyone's radar. The narrative has been about "losing Walker", not about "getting rid of Walker".

I am firmly in the belief (from what i have been told) that Walker's departure though not inevitable at that time, was preferred from individuals inside the Club senior management. I would be staggered if now the deal appears to be done that the circumstances surrounding this decision are not leaked.

As a player, you do not fuck around with this Manager.

I am saying no more.

SPOT.ON.
Chelsea sold Mata to Utd a few seasons back and could well sell Matic to them this summer....are they a selling club?

Are they bollocks, they're happy to let players go who are either :
a) Replaceable
b) Not in the managers plans
c) Not singing from the same hymn sheet as the manager.

Walker ticks two of these boxes IMO, and Its the sort of guff you expect from our rival fans on twitter, not from our own supporters.

Couldn't give a toss about any of that. It's not up to you to tell people to pipe down or shush just because you don't agree with what they are saying.

A forum is a place for open debate, not somewhere that discussion and opinion is shut down simply because it doesn't match up to your own.

How ironic, you evidently didn't read his post where he ridiculed the opinion of others and trotted out his own version of events as fact. That's not debate, unless you have an alternative definition.

So pipe down sweetheart.

Money spent on Bale and Walker = ~£9m
Money made on Bale and Walker = ~£135m

While I can't stand the BSoDL, it's certainly returned in dividends.

I hate to say it but I wonder what we'll wind up making on Eriksen when that horrendous day may come. Would love to start a thread on how much money we've bought and sold players for over the past 10 seasons.

Im upset that you cant stand me.

The site below can provide some information. Obviously, some of these are assumptions, based on what was reported at the time. Still interesting to see, especially compared to some of our PL rivals.

Haha, seems odd that he's spending time on a forum where he can't stand around 50%(rough guess) of the posters.
Should stick to the Harry Hotspur comments section, he'd be right at home.

Edit: going by the latest on the poll, it's roughly 80% of posters he can't stand...even more odd.

£60m for Oscar, £29m for Ramirez, £50m for Luiz... They are the masters of the "WTF" transfer fee. Though I'm fairly certain Roman has a lot to do with those fees in areas outside football.
