So Rose buckle down and got to stay while Walker being disrespectful and get his salary doubled (or more) at City :(

Hopefully it takes more than this to get into Poch's "bad book" or else our players can pretty much force their way out whenever they feel like it and that's kinda a problem potentially.

Great info, I think it's safe to assume that we are in for Barkley in addition to the others given the amount of ITK we've had on him.

Keeping the bulk of the squad together, replacing Walker adequately, and bringing in Barkley and another attacker plus some promising youngsters would be a decent window. A lot would ride on who the third striker winds up being, if it's some shit-hot talent I think most will be pleased but the moaning will be unbelievable (and possibly justified) if it's someone like Josh King or Andre Gray.

but what striker that's better than them, if it is 1 of those that will come to us knowing that the only chance they will get is in the CoC, FA Cup and possibly if Kane is injured.

no top marquee striker is going to sign for us getting paid £70k a week and not get enough game time in the season leading up to the world cup. all strikers thrive on paying regular.

to compete in the league the only time you used to be able to rotate a lot more was against the weaker teams, now days you don't get to many as they all have money to burn. ok the last 2 seasons the team that's won the league have had no European footy, they also both had the least amount of injuries and the least amount of rotation to their main starting XI

Pretty underwhelming let's be honest. A downgrade at right back, maybe Barkley and some kids. Maybe the 3rd striker might be someone more exciting but sounds like if it's not King it will be someone of that stature, which doesn't exactly set the pulse racing. I don't know why but I thought having a 90k stadium to fill they might go for one player to excite the fans.

we already have a team that excites the fans, or have you already brushed the last 2 seasons stats under the carpet?

football is fickle my friend and the day we rest on our laurels is the day you fall behind. You think Madrid sit back and are content with having the best team on the planet, no they go out every year and improve as does every hallmark team

Cabinessence:

Anyone not mentioned not discussed so really don't know

Dier not going
Jenssen not going
3rd striker to be signed
another RB to be signed
Some promising young players to be picked up but no megabucks marquees heading our way
Much to be done last knockings as ever.
know its not what some may not want to hear but that's it ....

just remembered Walker thing is he had a bit of a tummy on him which Poch asked him to lose and Walker came across a bit gangsta so goodbye Walks.

Rose had similar confrontation for whatever reasons the year before but showed Poch he was up for it hence still here
Theres always next season

On Barkley:

Sorry Bob but bit slurry at the time so forgot to ask about him

Josh King:

I mentioned Josh King but he just said yes maybe, which means he didn't know

I still view Bournemouth's quick move to snap up Defoe as a preliminary "we're losing Josh King" move. I know a lot of people would want better than JK but even convincing him to play second fiddle to Harry is going to prove difficult.

Madrid?

I guess it always helps having millions to spend and being the biggest club in the world I guess.

improving is relative if you didn't actually know that just like leeds can improve, madrid can improve, bayer leverkusen can improve and so can we

thanks saved me typing the same thing.

we are in no position to be able to sign a marquee signing that @DanielJohnCosta wants, because no marquee signing are going to want to sit on the bench, and if that signing gets in the team, the player that worked so hard for the last 2 seasons and has helped propel us up the league, will them get restless for sitting on the bench.

heard so many rumours about Walker, 1 being he wasn't happy being rotated. not 1 of our strongest XI wants to be regularly rotated, and no marquee signing wants that either, and there's no guarantee that a marquee would definitely settle or succeed

the 1 thing Poch wants is harmony, and at the moment he has that. with Levy until we know exactly the income from the Wembley experience and the NWHL, he can not afford to be doubling our players wages. the only reason we have most probably made a profit this season is down to the TV money, and finishing 2nd. we have just completed a season with over 19 games missing 4k supporters.

the only way he can afford to increase the wages is with end of season bonuses, because the next 2-5 seasons are going to be a step in to new territory. if it was to go pear shaped due to injuries are the players wanting double bubble going to be happy with massive drop in wages? NOPE

the way we have been going the last few seasons is upwards, and that's without throwing money about, and on top of that we have been hit with our stadium cost doubling, something the club could never imagined happening

I must have fallen asleep and woken up September 1st in that case. Don't think you have a case until then really do you? :)

Irony is that Real Madrid haven't actually improved their squad this summer yet which makes your point quite funny.

He's been going on about it all summer like a broken record...guess he just likes to have a moan.

Every "hallmark team" improves every year? Half the time they spend 100m and get significantly worse...

I was hoping for one decent named player and not barkely as i dont class him as that... oh well same ol spurs

and who do you play that decent player instead of?

yes we need a stronger squad, we also could do with someone with that bit of experience to get us over the line, even if he was someone you could bring on as a sub, but we can't go buying XI players in case someone gets injured.

when we put our strongest XI out, I don't see any of them that are a weak link in the team. what undid us the last 2 seasons was teams that could field their strongest team week in week out

i wonder the 3rd choice striker refers to a versatile player who can play upfront or on the wings

Even if we sign nobody, I think we are a better team than at this point last year. Kane is better, Dele is better, Eriksen is better, Dier is better, Trippier is better, Davies is better, Son is better

Our starting XI is as good as anyone in the league - no matter how much they spend. We need to improve depth. Barkley would help, healthy Lamela would help, healthy Winks would help, healthy Rose will help, healthy Dembele will help.

Bring in a RB, one more attacking option on the bench, a CB if Wimmer leaves, and we will have a team capable of challenging for the title - if everyone stays healthy.

and I totally agree with that

Can we not go into twatty rawk/utd mode and start slagging Walker off as being a rubbish, one track average Joe footballer now just because he's leaving? It's so embarrassing

The bloke has been in the top 3 fullback s in the league for the past 3,4,5 years. He's a good player, and has been a good servant to the club. Yes he's leaving, and may have played up, but let's show some dignity.
