Oh well unfortunate it all went south with Kyle. Excellent defender.

Let's not suddenly turn him into Charles Manson and claim he is a poor player too. Just making us look salty

We've got our spending money now, and he's gone, henceforth I now care a about him as much as I do any of the other non spurs England tripe. Let's move on

Funny!

It's interesting (but sad) to see all these negative comments on Walker flowing like a flood on here. I'd say that the Spurs PR department has done a super job of preparing the way for this move. Well done.

At the end of this window maybe they'll all get a bonus as well as their regular salary.
Can I just ask where you got the info about the 'body odor' line you trotted out earlier in this thread? Wasn't that the result of a 'Soccer Saturday' or 'Football AM' or something similar piece where they ask players certain questions about other team mates? ...

Do you yourself work in PR? Always check your sources ...

As for people and their negative views towards him in this thread, isn't that human nature? The long and the short of it, it doesn't effect/affect any of us but it's raw right now and his quotes however predictable will upset the apple cart.

50 million for a right back who could divide opinion on match day is good business, rival or not.

Frankly whenever Kyle played, I am very confident of his defending esp top 6. With him gone, Trippier got to step up to match his defensive duties. I won't slam a defender for the final third but the as a defender, it's your responsibility.

So good luck to Kyle, he has made some good recovery over the last 2 season. Hope he can cope with Rose and Alli.

I don't necessarily disagree with you, but we weren't close to winning the title in either of the last two seasons. at best we were closest "challengers", but to say we came close is pushing it.
In the context of 18 other seasons in the PL, we were close, as close as we've ever been before. The point is, it's been an exciting few years of genuine improvement. Do you disagree? If not, stop being a pedant.

Why is it bollocks? These types of clauses or add-ons are often included in deals.

Because it says the £45m is payable in instalments, when every press source out there has said it's £45m up front, £5m ininstallments, and then an undefined £2-5m in add-ons.

It's also straight-up balls that anyone knows the exact break-down of the add-ons.

Excellent player and professional lad. Gave his all when he wore our shirt. All the best to him. He deserves his move and its associated benefits. He will no doubt win some meddles/trophies with his new team.

Don't you reckon the reason he did this this season was because he had four fullbacks whose legs had gone? He basically said outright that he didn't have fullbacks that could run up and down the pitch for 90 minutes.
I reckon Walker will be deployed as a player that stays wide, and that he'll use Fernandinho when he wants a player that's more comfortable at tucking in.

Where's the 'maybe' rating? I agree the system will evolve, but he's played this system because of physical strength as opposed to lack of stamina, or at least tried to strike a balance. I mean walker reckons he needs to develop so I can't see him staying as the flying winger as he did with us. I often thought he would push up to replace Lennon years ago like Bale did as he was pushed forward on the left, but he's stayed as a right back.

We shall see

Can't remember where the 'body odour' comment came from but it was certainly mentioned - along with a myriad of reasons why Walker was on the outs. It's obvious that he was surplus to requirements (for whatever reason or reasons) but when he played he played very well. At least most of the time.

It's a shame that Walker is being vilified on here when maybe it was the Club that wanted him out - yet we have the impression that it was Walker pushing for the move. If that's the case then the Spurs PR Department has done a terrific job of creating an environment where the fans will blame the player for the move and not the Club.

Just saw another comment where Jenas (evidently still has connections at Spurs) says that he didn't think money was the prime reason for Walker's move. At least not on Walker's part.

The money quoted for Walker seems very good - but we'll see how good it really is once his replacement arrives and we see his impact on games in the upcoming season and beyond.

Why do you think the club wanted him out?

Err, a video where he again doesn't mention the manager (but he does mention the chairman)? Again, says it all.

Actions speak louder than black and white videos to a sad tune.

People in not always getting on shocker. He served the club well for years and clearly cared, even if it all went to s$%t (a lot of which from him) at the end.
