im surprised levy didnt have pereira tied up before letting walker go.
i mean with all that haggling and "hes hard to negotiate with" stuff going on cant believe he left himself short like this
ali z on rose: We had a big bid for him bigger than Walker was rejected.
on whether it was from a manchester club:

We probably have about £65-£70 or so from this summer alone. Close to 85m if we include the January sales of Bentaleb and Carroll. Still have Wimmer and Sissoko to go. So we could have around £100m to spend after this summers transfers. Problem doesnt really seem to be money or breaking even. Its deeper than a 1 in 3 success rate too. The only successful late transfer in we've had under Poch is Son. And there seems to be absolutely nothing close this window so we seem to be leaving it late which already starts us off on the wrong foot this season. Poch simply needs a pre season with incoming transfers and it seems he wont get that this summerWell it has been well reported on here before that we have to sell before we buy. Since the last 'break even' window we have sold Bentaleb, Njie, Fazio and Walker so potentially we have £70m to spend. Now considering in recent years we have only approx. a 1 in 3 success rate on purchases, that £70m has to be spent wisely. To counter this I'm sure someone produced stats last week that our earlier signings have been statistically proved to be more successful in recent seasons.
PS I for one am grateful for any ITK shared on here.
Or cheaper, mate? But JJ says Pereira is an option. Meaning there are other options available that are presumably a higher on the wish list.
I think you mean "diminuendo building".Is this the 'crescendo' building? Wonder if a few deals are closer than we've been led to believe with this spate of outgoings...

This type of stuff is a real worry. I hope we don't lose another big name.ali z on rose: We had a big bid for him bigger than Walker was rejected.

Blimey, 60+million maybe!! That backs up what has been said that we will only sell players that we want to, no matter the value of the bid!
But we rejected it....This type of stuff is a real worry. I hope we don't lose another big name.

illustrative of the dross on here....what do you want the club to do with a 50 million pound asset they see no need to keep? Send him to Wealdstone FC on loan?So messing with Poch gets you a £50m move to City, a few million in signing on fees, more chances of winning trophies and you double or triple your wages. I doubt he's concerned about messing with Poch in this instance.
Being sold to Watford or Hull I get, but this was a win situation for Walker and not a punishment.
wouldn't it be the opposite of a worry? Rejected a 60 mill + bid = good decisionThis type of stuff is a real worry. I hope we don't lose another big name.
Using Carroll in this is a bit odd. He barely played and was with Swansea as Spurs finished 2nd. Three of the other 4 weren't at the club last season either. So it's still only Walker that weakens the side, and you'd think he'll be replaced. So that's Walker, Bentaleb, Fazio, N'Jie and Carroll sold since we last signed a player.
Could someone explain to me how that makes us "stronger", as several on here are claiming?

It just that this is going on in the background, who else have we had an offer for, will Levy sell for the right price. I don't want to wake up tomorrow and find Diers face all over a Manc newspaper, despite all the itk saying the opposite. Itk.....pinch of salt.wouldn't it be the opposite of a worry? Spurs bought Wanyama and promoted Winks for last season. Which is why he didn't play and was sold. It's still another squad player not replaced, and we presumably haven't yet finished selling.
