TwanYid, even though you've taken the negative comments rather personally you need to understand that on an open forum such a SC you're opening yourself up to all sorts of response from the keyboard warriors that spend time here, myself included. Just be yourself and in time you'll be able to sort the wheat from the chaff, so to speak.

I still can't believe we were held to ransom by that mafia chairman of Steaua. On top of that, demanding sell-on payment when we made a loss on the player. So much :poop: for so little.

I got so much hate for this thread- 17 disagrees and only 4 agrees, plus people calling me all sorts of names (troll, idiot, clueless among them)- yet when I went through the posts, the majority of people agree with me.

If that's the case then why not click the "agree" (or "like") button?

If a person gets a lot of hate for a post I agree with, I always try to support him or her. I don't get why so many on her just let me twist in the wind. I do not deserve scorn for this. Vlad Chiriches is one of the sulkiest players I've seen in over ten years of supporting Spurs- and no amount of "he's good on the ball" or "he's talented- just not as a Center Back" is going to change that.

The guy was a fucking nightmare- and I'm the problem?
As someone who has been through the trenches I feel qualified to give some advice.

  1. You have to be able to able to back up a statement and argue your case well. e.g one of the worse players you've seen in 13 years, you have to back that up or people won't take you seriously.
  2. You have to have thick skin and not let negative rep or name calling get to you.
  3. At the time you started this topic Vlad was not fully out of favour with the fan base, so it was a topic which was against the grain. If you make a topic that goes against popular opinion you have to be prepared for a backlash. So again think back to number 1, argue your case well and back up statements.
  4. Your post history and past exchanges play a part. Some people hold grudges because of previous arguments or topics/comments that have been made and they didn't like. Even if they agree with what you are saying they are unlikely to give you credit or say that they agree with you publicly.

Our line up on 23 September 2000 for a 0-0 draw at home with Manchester City:

Sullivan
Carr Perry Vega Thatcher
Rebrov Sherwood Freund Leonhardsen
Iversen Ferdinand

Subs: Walker, Doherty, Young, Clemence, Davies

In that side, Sullivan was half decent. Carr had lost interest by then. Perry, Vega and Thatcher were all god awful. Rebrov was playing totally out of position and was shot of any confidence. Sherwood's legs had completely gone and all he could do was kick people. Freund couldn't even do that. Leonhardsen was the definition of uninspiring. Iversen was talented but forever unfit/ hungover and Ferdinand was completely past it. The sub goalie was talented but dopey, Doherty and Clemence were truly awful footballers, Young and Davies both had ability but were forever coming back from injuries.

Other than that, a pretty good team...
