No need for over reaction again. One man's opinion that a player's head isn't straight doesn't mean that Edwards is demanding Messi wages, captaincy and first option on penalty taking. He's probably just frustrated that he hasn't been given game time that he expected last season. This generation is used to getting what they want.

Hope there's a few on here and they want a signing!

I don't get the mentality of (essentially) youth team players getting into contract disputes with the club that raised them.

Just get on with playing football and prove yourself in the first team before you start all that shit.

They are too short sighted for that. Why work hard when someone else can pay you more, that's what they think.

Look at Bostock and Caulker, didnt work for then and it won't work for Edwards either.

And you know all this how?

I mean I don't know anything concrete 100%, but it seems we get quite a lot of inside info saying he is unhappy and wants a big money contract, his head was turned a little when Oxford demanded WHU for one. We've all heard things like he wants certain guarantees over his playing time and is demanding X amount of first team appearances...

Only point I am making is it seems as though he seems to think he is the one calling all the shots and he can try get this and that, when really, he hasn't show enough of anything to show that this is what he deserves...

Just an observation that's all!:)

Just think out aloud.....Maybe Edwards has realised he might not quite have it to break into the first team so is making a play for some £££ whilst he's still got a "high potential" rep

Maybe edwards is leaving it to his agent.

Wow a lot of assumption made here from such little information. I think people are being a bit harsh on Edwards without knowing the details. Just because he hasn't signed a long term contract and dedicated his life to the club it doesn't mean he is a bad example. Just look at Alderweirald for example of how even an experienced player can take time to agree a contract.

As far as I can tell nothing negative has come from Edwards. He just hasn't signed a contract as yet. We just need to be patient and see if he has it in him to make it under Poch.

You think an agent never asks his client what he wants?

You think an agent wont tell him that he can get a better deal and to trust him? You think an 18 year old might not trust what his paid representative who has far more experience than him in this situation? You think other clubs wont possibly offer him a better deal?

My reply on Friday:
Oh I assure you I'm not saying Edwards is displaying any worrying attitude, nor that his contract situation is the huge issue some are making out, I'm merely interpreting dragon1 in that way. Doesn't mean I believe it, I'm just waiting to see what happens and hope that we agree things with Marcus as I'd love us to produce a talent with Cypriot roots :)

It's not so much assumptions... Most posters want him to succeed and become a first team regular. In the same way Dele Alli did..... However all that we ever discuss is him not signing a new contract... Its become desperately boring now.

Actually people have been criticising him for it which I think is unfair given we don't know the details about it

That's a worry about Edwards, but it's been quite obvious that all is not 100% rosey on that front.

Never a doubt in mind that Poch was happy for Walker to leave.

Sell him to the Chavs, he'll get a fat contract but will never be seen again and he'll live the rest of his life rueing his stupid decision.

I think th e point dragon is making, so is that if Edwards contract ends up running out or will be because we have decided that, however talented he may be, he does no justify giving him what he wants.

The reason he never went to the States is that he is having a short break after the Euros - nothing to do with his contract in the slightest he will return to the first team set up after his short break. There really isn't much to see here at all. The coaches at Spurs love him his attitude according to them is first class He was a little unlucky last season with a few small knocks and he is still only a kid anxious to impress sometimes overly.

I think for Marcus he needs to find ways to impact games on a more continuous basis I never saw as much of him last season but from others his beginning to have more of an impact and he is scoring more goals. He is a real talent but needs like the others needs to play Spurs have to find that medium sadly its something missing in English football

I seem to remember the same hu hah from posters about Pritchard and see where it has got him in the end. Not suggesting The Championship is bad by the way. But I do trust the club to do the best thing in terms of players. They will find a way to keep him, if he's worth it.
