Celtic will thump Rosenborg. Dundalk lost because they didn't have legs for extra time, not because they were any worse a footballing side. Shame for them that they won't drop into Europa.

Well well well ... Celtic are actually no better than Rosenborg at all. Half an hour for either side to find a winner and it really is too close to call.

Ooo cracking goal from Forrest. Even at the near post I can't really fault the Rosenborg goalie, it was that well hit.

Celtic with the away goal and surely through.

I thought Celtic might come unstuck here and drop into the Europa with Arsenal.

Rosenborg don't offer enough attacking threat when they play in Europe. Lack cutting edge at a higher level than the Norwegian league. I always had Celtic as favourites but Rosenborg have played well defensively in this tie.

Celtic still need to go through another round, don't they?

Fuck me, 3 qualifying rounds to get in to the group stage. That's half a competition...

Yep, one round left. Losers this round dropped into the EL playoff. Draw tomorrow.

Ajax lost to Nice on away goals. Massive bummer.

Also, Adebayor scored for Istanbul Basaksehir. Never want us to go to Turkey but that would be a fun group stage meeting if they won their playoff.

League route
Ajax 2-2 Nice (agg: 3-3, Nice win on away goals)
CSKA Moskva 1-0 AEK (agg: 3-0)
İstanbul Başakşehir 2-0 Club Brugge (agg: 5-3)
Plzeň 1-4 FCSB (agg: 3-6)
Young Boys 2-0 Dynamo Kyiv (agg: 3-3, YB win on away goals )

Champions route
APOEL 4-0 Viitorul (agg: 4-1)
BATE 2-1 Slavia Praha (agg: 2-2, Slavia win on away goals)

FH 0-1 Maribor (agg: 0-2)
København 4-1 Vardar (agg: 4-2)

Legia Warszawa 1-0 Astana (agg: 2-3)
Ludogorets 3-1 Hapoel Beer-Sheva (agg: 3-3, Beer-Sheva win on away goals )
Olympiacos 2-2 Partizan (agg: 5-3)
Rijeka 0-0 Salzburg (agg: 1-1, Rijeka win on away goals)

Rosenborg 0-1 Celtic (agg: 0-1)
Sheriff 1-2 Qarabağ (agg: 1-2)

So we're hoping on two of Steaua, Young Boys, Nice, Hoffenheim and Basaksehir to beat Sevilla and Napoli to scrape into pot two.

English clubs have 100% record in UEFA Champions League play-offs. Will Liverpool be able to keep that going?

Asks UEFA. Forgetting Everton's defeat to Villarreal in 2005.

Champions route:
Qarabag FK (Azerbaijan) v Copenhagen (Denmark)
APOEL Nicosia (Cyprus) v Slavia Prague (Czech Republic)
Olympiacos (Greece) v NK Rijeka (Croatia)
Celtic (Scotland) v Astana (Kazakhstan)
Hapoel Beer-Sheva (Israel) v NK Maribor (Slovenia)

Gonna be a couple of really shite sides in the group stage...

League route:
Istanbul Basaksehir (Turkey) v Sevilla (Spain)
Young Boys (Switzerland) v CSKA Moscow (Russia)
Napoli (Italy) v Nice (France)
Hoffenheim (Germany) v Liverpool (England)
Sporting (Portugal) v FCSB (Romania)

Two great ties in the league route. Come on Hoffenheim!

Can't see Istanbul doing much against Sevilla, even though they have ol' Ade in the side.

You're right about Nice, that is a thumper of a tie. If Nice win they'll have knocked out Ajax and Napoli before the groups even start, which is incredible really.
