I had tickets for last night, the noise on the last lap was incredible. That stadium can produce an atmosphere, just not when it's full of West Ham fans.

Katarina Johnson-Thompson ballsed up the high jump this morning. She's unquestionably got the talent, she just doesn't seem to have the mentality to put together an error free heptathlon when it really matters at a major championship.
Is her trainer now the guy who was with Jess Ennis?
Maybe it's simplistic but surely he knows how to teach that winning mentality.
Seems it's the Belgian girl's to lose now.

No, Jessica Ennis-Hill's coach was Toni Minichiello who's been commentating/pundit on BBC. I think KJT's new coach is French maybe?

Yeah I heard she now lives in France which makes sense...so is Minichiello just a heptathlon coach, or does he do other events as well?

great late surge by Prescod there. He seemed to get a really slow start and then powered past them.

Shame Coleman didn't win, it would have been nice to see the baton handed over to the next generation.

That was painfully slow for a major final.

Gatlin? To be honest, he's a cheat, one of many, and he gets deserved stick etc and he should have been banned for life no doubt but he can only abide by the current rules.

Bolt is finished, he's making the right decision by retiring, 100%. No need for him to tarnish his legacy by fading away slowly and running times he'd run backwards in his pomp.

Don't get why the BBC try to tow the line doing the whole 'crowd can make their own decisions' thing as though a 2 time drugs cheat should ever be let off by foreign crowds

Yeah I had a tenner on Coleman at 4/1

Can we have an immediate comprehensive drugs test on the cheating bastard?

If only 1 of the runners was clean, I'd put any money on it being him since he's trying to prove a point to everyone, but still 2 times is 2 times and a cheats a cheat

I can understand the argument for allowing people a second chance, but if you get a second chance and still cheat then quite frankly you have no place in the sport. He's a disgrace and should not be celebrated in any way.

Totally agree, just saying he's no doubt clean this time around, but yeah he should never have been given yet another opportunity no matter how long ago it was

They are two faced cowards. Wasn't all that long ago the exact same commentary team sat there before a final doing a special vid talking about the virtues of Bolt and how Gatlin winning would be horrific for the sport. Bolt won and you had Cram shouting into the mic about how "Bolt may well have just saved the sport."

Fast forward to tonight and it's "the crowd have turned him into a pantomime villain" and "Sport doesn't always have a fairy tale ending." They are utter shite-hawks that don't have the balls to stick to the same narrative that they create
