The lack of ambition from the highest level is soul destroying. We're so close with our players but Levy is more interested in attracting American Football to his investment portfolio.

We've been left short squad wise for yet another season and it's unacceptable.

We've been left short before so I understand the worry you, I and alot of us have. But you have to give it until the end of the window.

My onions.

I despair.... of the future generation of Spurs fans. I guess this is the generation we hear about that have zero patience and want stuff now. Totally spoiled and not living in the real world.
You know absolutely nothing about me.as a man nearing 40 ive seen the grim teams and managers of the 90s so am in a good position to know currently we have our best team and certainly manager ive seen and possibly will ever see. The game is currently awash with cash and for me if the best manager we have had in 30 years is telling you that the only fit right back isnt ready to start a premiership game then i do believe we are missing an opportunity.i aint craving signings for signings sake im craving we back our manager as i think he is mustard and worry like some of the earlier ITK have said he is getting increasingly frustrated.if we lost him over penny pinching after what he has done to this club would be sheer madness. May never have a better chance.

I don't think the comments from the previous poster were unreasonable. We are supposed to be going for the title and we are massively in profit from recent transfers. We have holes in the squad that urgently need filling. We are the only Prem club that hasn't made a signing. I understand the poster's frustration that many of us share.
Hopefully the ITK comes true and we do make necessary signings. But until then it's not unreasonable if people start getting twitchy.
It was probably unfair to @paulcumpston to single him out, I should have made a separate comment rather than 'reply' to his. It gets tedious, the sheer panic and bed wetting that goes on when we still have a month(ish) to go.

Do you have to pay a 'release clause ' in full? I know they are not the norm but appears PSG had to cough up the whole amount straight away for Neymar. Might be why Levy is trying to negotiate down according to some itk?!
I'm not quite sure what you're asking...if there is a clause that says the owning team must release the player from his contract if an offer that meets x conditions is met, then yes, that player is released upon meeting those conditions. If it was possible to activate a 100 million release clause by paying 80 million...what would the point be or setting it at 100m? The clause will have specific language about what conditions must be met for the release to be activated.

Apart from walker we still have the same team that got us 2nd last year. I can understand the disappointment in not having a new player or 2 by now, but its not all doom and gloom. Key injuries have not helped matters though.

Levy is one smart cookie, I dont blame him for holding off while all other clubs are spending way over the values of players. Just got to have faith in the bald guy and poch.

And the same squad that performed disgracefully in the CL, a competition that for a decade has worked as a guiding star for the club's ambitions. Just saying, every version of reality as portrayed in this thread is founded on a rational truth.

Just a reminder of some ITK from July 7, 2017

"Whilst Pochettino understands that we can't sign big stars, he's getting increasingly frustrated that targets agreed to are not being delivered, despite these players being entirely affordable, within our range and agreeing to come. In fact is a number of cases fees have actually been agreed.

He's not getting his choices with some regularity and things aren't at all well between him and the bald man who offers up signings that Poch just doesn't want. He'll continue to say the right things for now but unless things change soon, at some point we'll start to see stories appearing in the media. The Goat's source guesses we might get another season from him at best unless things dramatically improve. But that's just a guess."

The same info also stated that Barkley was done for 20m

I think it's the margins these days that gets fans worried. It wouldn't take much to lose a few extra games miss out on CL or trophies for more years due to inaction.

We are so close to being a top club again and most spurs fans have never seen us at the top. Levy is a master at selling but fairly shite at buying, its like he thinks hes smarter than everyone else and these Alli gambles or kane revelations will keep happening, but in all likelihood they won't.

You are right about the whining on here but there is some justification we are literally a world class signing away imo from a league win so spunking 30m last minute on sissoko or grabbing njie in hope seems like false economy to a lot us.

Overall though for me I supported spurs since '73 and this is the best we've ever been yes we haven't won the fa cup but we are a team to reckon with these days which is good enough. .... end of ramble.

I meant do you have to pay it in one hit? (eg PSG and Neymar)

Off Topic: As I understand having to pay it in one go is rare and Barca did that because they were mad. Normally you notify a team you will pay it and then work out a transfer payment plan for that same amount over time. Depending on the amount, etc.

On Topic: With the news that Trippier may be out for weeks from the Telegraph and Daily Mail I really hope Alli Z is on the money with his ITK for a RB. Probably too early for Newcastle (where we might be boned if Wanyama is also out - Dier can't cover both) but maybe in time for after the international break. Especially of they stay and focus on fitness.

Shambolic window. Guessing we had the 50m for walker in one payment yet we still hear a 10% bonus from Swansea selling Sigs will help move transfers along. Now we have no right back that the manager trusts.
Doubt it, nobody, even city, keep £50 mill in cash. PSG only got it together because the buyout clause requires all cash, up front

Do you have ITK on the lack of ambition? If so please pop it in the RO for all to enjoy. (y)

And other ITK has said he has no problem with Levy and how we are going about our business. We don't know what is going on for sure.

What I do know is that this non ITK talk is not allowed in here so can we stop the rants guys, and just wait for some new ITK.

I've tried to be patient all Summer but it's getting a bit frustrating. If we drop points in the first few games because we don't make any signings until deadline day and this costs us CL football then what's the point? The money saved leaving it late certainly won't cover the cost of not making top 4. We all know it's probably going to be a lot harder to get top 4 this season, it's pretty feasible there will be only a few points in it.

Going into the new season we have 1 fit full back. That's unacceptable if you're Huddersfield never mind a team trying to challenge for the title. I'll never stop loving Spurs but if we ever lose Poch because of stuff like this I would lose a lot of faith in the club.
