Info from Gards in the Balde thread....

This is unbelievable, a player scouted for a year and been in touch with since Jan has fallen yet again at the last hurdle. We have now missed out on a primary target. Lots of work to do, we still want 3 but this is a big blow!

The only bit I don't understand is how that's seen as unbelievable.

I'd go as far to say it's almost predictable.

Just trying to clarify:

ITK this window has pointed towards wanting 3 players in (our primary targets), a wide player, a CAM and a RB. Alongside
reserve GK.

Until this morning the information being given to us was that these 3 primary targets hadn't changed.

The ITK has led us to believe, whether by telling us or us just making assumptions, that these 3 primary targets were:

Wide player: Balde
CAM: Barkley
RB: Pereira.

We have now learned that that 2 of these 3, Balde and Pereira, are no goes and that Barkley is moving at snails pace with both Everton and Spurs being blamed due to both trying their own brinkmanship.

Am I right in thinking this is a fair assumption of the ITK so far?

I am surprised JJ even mentioned it if he knew Juve were interested in the same player. When it comes to Juve and Spurs unfortunately Juve will always win.

Right, we're back.

If you want to bash Levy or the club or whatever over our transfer policy, take your pick out of the very many player threads available to you, which, if you hadn't realised it by now, are VERY lightly moderated, it isn't as if we ask you shut up and don't provide an alternate venue for it all.........

Well hey, look at that I now know it takes 9 minutes to shake a donkeys nutsack twice! #weightoffshoulders.......

Thanks as always to JJ, I feel a bit sorry for him because he will probably receive undeserved criticism now from the crazy 12 year olds of the internet! Anyway, at least we know early enough that Balde is a no go and we can move to other targets!! COYS!

It would be good to know who is next in line on the RB list, if Pereira is now a no-go...

The likelyhood of Barkley and King seems to have become greater if Balde isnt coming. Not sure if that's a bad thing though, with both showing glimmers of what we want and the potential to be doing it much more consistently under Poch...

Well we can now say Balde was the main target for the wide player role - Barkley appears to be the CAM target but it is not clear who the RB main target is - Pereira has been mentioned but only as one of perhaps three possibles. Still not good news but it's really only one of our main targets that has gone so far. Lets hope we have better luck with the other two.

What points to RP being a no - go? A little behind on transfer talk (tend to only pop in to RO for my sanity :) )

Last i heard it just their chairman playing hardball?

Never seen either balde or rp play, have no idea if they are any good or not but can't be good missing out. Is barkley still on? Jj said yesterday it should be in the next two weeks.

Any mention of our secondary targets?

I assume some of the Barkley delay is down to Everton struggling to agree a deal with Swansea for Sigurdsson.

That's a shame on this mornings ITK after last nights. Nature of the beast now.

Hopefully better news to come in the coming week.

Moving on ...
