It's not like the press have just taken a couple of sentences out of context and twist it like they usually do. He's given them a small books worth of stuff. All that extra shit about Wembley and even Barkley (which was positive I guess) there's just no need. Proper SC rant he's given the ****.

Actually gutted. I had some proper rants on here about Walker but I accepted in the end as it was clear that we played a big part in allowing him to leave which ultimately I'm ok with as Poch is the man but this shit with Rose hurts.
Don't get me wrong, I'm not blaming the journo for having done this or that. I'm blaming Rose for handling a golden PR opportunity to such a degree of a media newbie.

To be fair he did say the fans have been great the last 3 years. He's just hanging into that poorish 2013/14 season. I would've thought he'd let that go by now but clearly he's got a chip in his shoulder.

I hope it's not abuse on Twitter that he's upset about, because that really would be pointless. I know he left twitter after being on it for a while so I suspect it may have been, but the abuise on twitter is ubiquitous and not representative of real life. For example Gareth Bale constantly gets some of the worst abuse imaginable from Real Madrid fans, genuine hatred blaming him for keeping Isco out of the side, but I don't suppose it bothers him too much.

Everyone saying poch wont stand for it and rose will be gone.based on our business over the last 12 months i would be shocked if poch wasnt having the same thoughts as rose.we have been dreadful in the transfer window.dont buy any of this bollocks of waiting for other clubs, decisions.no other club has failed to bring in at least a couple of players even if they havent got everything they still want.

Totally agree about Rose behaving disrespectfully and not keeping his opinions private, but surely you can't expects players to think deeply about revenues, stadium finance etc?

They've seen the market as it is, seen the money circulating around the PL and just care about winning trophies. They know we are on the cusp of something and want to see us push on.

In all honesty they are not too bothered about stadiums and they certainly don't care about wage/turnover ratio, debt and lower interest payments.
I think the first part of this sentence is where we are at. Walker before him and now Rose have had their portfolio's fluffed with the last two seasons and now they want their bank balance lined. Human nature. On saying that if they are treating this like a business first, then I don't know why we as fans would expect anything different from those who run the club.

Surely it's now a case of cause and effect.

Football is no more a sport now than it is a business, which is sad.

Absolutely crucial that we don't sell him this summer. That's what he wants. Sell him now and it sets a precedent that if you kick up a fuss then we'll let you go and triple your wages elsewhere.

If Poch doesnt want him in his squad then sit him in the stands for a year. We have to put our foot down here or there could be an exodus.
Doubling, but tripling seems incredibly optimistic, unless he signs for PSG.

Yeah accept that but i'm sure this info would have been relayed to his agent. I just don't get the mentality that just because we've finished in the top 3 during the last couple of seasons then all of sudden everyone gets mega wages. It's clearly not the way it works. Someone needs to ask him if we finished 6th next season if he would take a pay cut?

Fucking hate twitter. Not being on it I didn't know about Rose leaving it. Sad if you're right and it is that but if he was a member of SC instead would it be any different? Fuck knows.

Like you say it would be pointless if it was. I like to think it's not a main factor but could play a part. They're professionals at the end of the day, they should know most fans are fickle as fuck. I like Old Harry's view on social media, I'm paraphrasing but something along the lines of: "if you don't like reading bad stuff about yourself don't go on it in the first place"

To be fair though, the class of 92 got paid the going rate.

Nah sorry there is a very clear policy at Spurs of getting new contracts very often as long as your performing

Danny rose was fine with this policy in sept 2016 when he signed a contract and what he he done to earn more money since then? Nothing he's played about 15 games so that fact he now feels he is worth more is nothing but greed

However yes most players do have a case to be payed more and must be

People are different. Only because person x doesn't care about abuse and insults, it doesn't mean that person y will react the same. He's human and probably more sensitive than others. Only because he's privileged, it doesn't mean he should accept abuse and insults.

Levy needs to pay our players what they deserve,it's that simple. Danny rose should have not come out public and told the whole world how he feels, what happened to father poch?
To me looks like he's trying get his move like walker did. Missing out on a league title over last 2 years has really fucked us up, maybe players would have given us a little more time if they had a medal.

No because next year we will have massively increased our match day revenue, and like it or not that is going to force the issue.

I agree with that, but if you're getting upset about abuse on social media and carrying a grudge for years and years... honestly what a complete waste of time. Twitter isn't even a representation of proper Spurs fans. I once looked though Ryan Mason's twitter, he was getting some of the most horrific abuse imaginable from 'Spurs fans'. These are mentally subhuman keyboard trolls and anyone should be able to differentiate that from real life.

If you're THAT sensitive, you shouldn't be on social media. And I would suggest he really isn't that sensitive at all, otherwise he wouldn't be requesting an interview where he slags off the club and his team mates with the country's vilest, most hated newspaper.

Of course, and so it should. But the point is currently we don't have the revenue so he's asking us to bump his wages up out of thin air, based on his misguided perception that we are one of the big boys because we have had good league finishes over the past couple of seasons. It's just selfish and totally stupid, if i'm honest.

They don't but Daniel Levy has to and that's why he can't just keep giving them all £150,000+ for wages.

Not paying any of them that. If that continues prepare yourself to lose more than half this current team.
We'll be doubling our match day revenue with new stadium plus stadium sponsorship we never had before, plus NFL money. This idea we can't massively bump up our wage structure is bollocks. Yes we've got to pay for stadium but that'll be structured over many many years and leave us with a huge increase in revenue yearly.

Our recent success has come too soon, but we need to readjust what we want to achieve, otherwise we're gonna miss out on chance of winning something and we'll lose all these star players and maybe even the manager. Now was our moment, I've waited 30+ years to see us have a team even close to this and it'll really kill my love for this game if it all just falls apart.

Kyle walker knock on effect.

I'm at least as good as him, I deserve to get what he has .

Maybe it's a good time to sell Rose anyway. Discontent, injury prone player who's not contributing to the squad morale. 70M and Mourinho may have a seat at Levy's table?
