Knew this was coming. Be interesting to see how the club respond to this.

He's not only effectively challenging the wage structure of the club (i.e: in so many words, if Walker's worth £100k+ a week so am I) he's also asking the club to show some ambition and "sign players you don't have to google to see who they are".

If he feels like this following the Walker move you can bet your bottom dollar that players like Toby, Eriksen, Dier will be feeling the same. And you can bet they're all talking about both of the above points when they're together. We already know Vertonghen felt like this a year ago.

If we don't invest now and put plans in place to alter the wage structure in the next 12months - then end up finishing 5th,6th (or worst) our best players (and probably Poch) will be gone next summer.

This is such a huge transfer window for us and it just doesn't look like Levy realises how a lack of ambition will come across to the players.

That or he thinks we can endure a couple of seasons of transition while we finish the stadium and bed more academy players in.

Apart from a small number of clubs bankrolled by filthy-rich owners, the bulk of the Premier League's wealth comes from the most recent TV deal, whose value was escalated by Gavin Patterson (BT's CEO)'s decision to use a substantial proprtion of his company's resources in a shameless bid to challenge Sky for what are considered to be their "Crown Jewels".

However, at the beginning of August, Delia Bushell, the head of BT Sport resigned, amid informed speculation that shareholder pressure would force BT to change direction and divert money away from Patterson's vanity projects to shore up its own balance sheet. (Coincidentally, Gavin Patterson is actually giving a presentation on BT's immediate plans leter today, see https://sbcnews.co.uk/retail/2017/05/08/delia-bushell-resigns-md-bt-sport/ )

If, as expected, BT decide not to bid for the PL's TV rights when they next come up for auction, this transfer window could well be seen as the high-water mark for player values, which is why a lot of players and clubs are very, very nervous. The existing TV deal lasts until the summer 2021, i.e. anyone signing a 5 year contract this summer will have to keep his fingers firmly crossed!.

Yes, but we all know that Levy is not the most generous when it comes to transfer fees and salaries. Even West Ham pay (much) higher salaries than Spurs. So the top clubs in the EPL - and not only top clubs in the EPL - will easily offer a higher salary than Spurs.
Thus said, I am not totally blaming Levy as he's an expert in balancing the books and I feel player now a days are earning too much money.

not for every player on the books, if they did that we wouldn't be the 6th on highest wages outlay. we have 11 players that are all better than Wet Spams.

PEOPLE NEED TO WAKE UP!!!!! we have been playing in one of the smallest stadiums in the country, yes we are now about to play in the biggest, but we won't know our income until the end of the season.

to be able to try and get on a level playing field we went down the route of building a new stadium, which is going to cost a fucking fortune, including outlay to the whole development. the cost of purchasing the land, building the stadium, a top of the range training ground which will have extra finance to build the accommodation suits.

YES LEVY! the man that if he hadn't bought us, and we was still in the hands of Sugar, we wouldn't be anywhere near the level we are today, said the stadium won't effect our transfer, well it won't he is going to operate the same way he has, the only hope is once the stadium is up he will increase the wage structure.

if you believe we will be able to ever compete with Man U, Man C or Chelsea on that front, then your going to be severely disappointed.

we all want success unfortunately to be honest we have hit heights without trophies around 5 years to early. every player knows our wage situation, and every player knows that joining the 3 higher paying teams they will double + their wages, they also know because the money these clubs have, they can buy success. what they need to start doing is putting in the extra 50% on the field to win things.

I thought Rose looked pissed off at the closing ceremony, and now his best mate has pissed off, he most probably wants the same. well if he wants the same, he will have to wait till we decide to sell him.

Yes. Our first team is definitely on a par.
But purely with regards to those five points made by Rose however, we're simple not on their level - yet.
You're right. We're not on their level. We're above their level (apart from Chelsea). We've got better players who are playing better than theirs.

Bottom line: the club has to break its current wage structure and incrementally increase the salary of the players and managers, otherwise we will not retain the good people that have taken us to where we are.

you do know we would have to at least double every single squad players wages to compete in the wages department, and that still wouldn't match what the manc, and Chelsea clubs can afford

I don't think you can blame him on his points here.
1. We haven't won a trophy
2. We haven't signed anyone
3. The players we have been linked with are not those marquee names.
4. We've sold the league's best RB, to a rival.
5. Players will naturally compare their salary to what they could get elsewhere.

To be honest he's spot on really. It is so frustrating. And must be more so for the players.
The club has to match the players (and our) ambition now. Off the pitch, because we have some awesome first XI talent, we need to decide if we want to step into Chelsea, city and Utd's world.

1: He signed a new contract weeks before he got injured
2: No one knows if he will return to one hundred percent fitness
3: Why was he speaking for other players without their permission
4: Where is it proven that "marquee" signings win you silverware
5: Why insult our manager and Chairman about players we have signed
6: He was on loan to a relegated side before Poch made him what he is
7: Just who the fuck does he think he is telling the Club who to buy
8: He then insults YOU the Clubs fan

I truly hope that Poch keeps the faith on the hard working Davies and Rose is treated very much like Ade was.

Poch and Levy have made it one hundred percent clear how this Club would be built, on and off the pitch moving forward and i would hope that fans in general would accept that we will not be spending the gazillions like United, Chelsea, Liverpool and Man City do hoping that some of it will stick.

Where did the seventy five million that United spent on Pogba get them last season? Rose needs to understand that there is no "i" in team and he is most welcome to throw his toys out of his pram.

The interview he gave to a newspaper that slaughtered those poor Liverpool fans who perished at Hillsborough proves what a self entitled stupid, and thoughtless prick Rose really is.

Flame away, as i am done with this mercenary, ungrateful prick.

West Ham rent their ground, have a reduced cost base (no Policing fee's etc) or upkeep and maintenance. I think their running costs were something like 42% LESS than ours!

For fucks sake get real!

Maybe they're too busy focussing on improving upon last year's 2nd place finish.
Selling a player from the core 13-14 players, underpaying players, and not improving the depth (our biggest weakness by far) will probably do that. Excellent strategy.

well he ain't going to make himself very popular with those comments. his game started to improve a little under AvB, but got an injury then struggled and was sent to Sunderland on loan, the team he decided to go watch and celebrate their match that secured them safety and wasn't fit enough to face Nocastle on the final day.

he was always an okay player, but the last 3 years he has done enough to get himself in the England squad with the help of Poch

And we never will, hence why Levy has made it clear how we will do business.

I just do not fundamentally understand why grown adults in here cannot grasp what this Club's philosophy is and accept it or move on and support another club.

So what are you saying here. Are you suggesting we let our players, and our management team, leave? I'm not disagreeing that there is a wage inflation, but unlelss we keep up, to a certain extent, we are going to lose our good players. Are you saying that's okay with you?
