The thing I'm worried about is it's going to destroy the unity between players and fans, which is our strength. Right now our fans believe the entire squad thinks the same as Rose.

When Rose plays he will be booed.

If Rose is a loner in this, he really has put his foot in it big-time. I hope the club hold firm and make an example of him.

Silly silly boy Danny.

Although if I was his agent I'd probably say I knew nothing about it regardless...

When Poch came in our locker room was reportedly a nightmare per some ITK. It took him time but he backed the right people and now I feel the right people are captains. It might mean we have to swallow some hard truths and part with some loved players but I back him 100% to make the right decision.

Rose is either an idiot who let a situation get away from himself and didn't realize the impact, or is a manipulator who is trying to leverage others discontent to feed his own agenda. If the former the players may rally around him against The Sun which could be good (and incredibly optimistic). If the latter, he probably has no place in that dressing room as he'll only feed hate.

this been posted?

hertyid: Assuming my guy isn't lying to me, he certainly didn't receive a hero's welcome, the opposite in fact. I've seen no quotes from any player to support Rose. I don't expect any. Media just love jumping on a bandwagon.

Levy isn't going to get his cheque book out just because Danny Rose spouted off to the papers. Far more likely Rose is bollocked, used as squad player this year and sold next summer.

Rose may well have shot himself in the foot with his timing. If Poch does use him as a squad player or even less because of this, it could really affect his England chances ahead of next summer. Poch won't be afraid to drop him either, he 'rested' Walker numerous times against big teams so won't think twice about doing it with a disruptive idiot. Rose should've waited until after next year and obviously not made it public. I hope he stays and sorts everything out but If we're resigned to losing him, I'd love him to miss the Euros because Bertrand or Shaw came good (or KWP.....!)

I really hope this itk is true and not what the Sun are reporting.

Completely solo & a 'different' personality than you would expect ....

Sorry, being dense here - is this saying Rose has a different personality than we would imagine, or a different person is advising than to who we would expect...?

Or he's been injured 6 months and has got slightly depressed and pissed off and is having a vent.
Still stupid.

Is this really the thread to discuss it though? We have two danny rose threads discussing it already. I know there is itk about it and it is big news but 5 pages is a lot.

Every club has this. Every club's internet forums have the same sort of people on it with the "it only happens to us" mentality. As soon as we acknowledge that it's how it all works for everyone (and drop the victim mentality) the better.

I never said that it only happens to us...I don;t really care what happens to other clubs. What I care about is that we have not adequately protected ourselves from the predations of the wealthier clubs. We haven't played on the front foot - we have been very reactive. We have allowed Jose and Pep and Conte to get hold of our players and create unrest in the camp, we have sold a first team player to City, demonstrating that our players are available to other clubs in the league at the right price. We have failed to replace the first team player we did sell with the season about to start and my point now is that I'm not particularly bothered about how confident we are of getting players in. We are told how confident the club is of getting players every season and it never pans out.

We have left ourselves weaker for the start of a season after finishing the last very strongly and that is a shame.

Mate I was airing my view just the way you are. I won't say what you said was rubbish even if I don't agree. The interview and timing were deliberate and have in the eyes of many destabilised our club just before the season. Every man and his dog now is now talking about the club in a negative way and we now apparently have players queuing up to the leave the club. All because a disgruntled prick who signed a contract 10 months ago and said he wanted to finish his career at Spurs and was turning into a southerner and by the way hasn't played a game for the last 6 months is unhappy. Yes he is a member of the team, perhaps the is will change to was - who knows.
If you can't see what's wrong with your original post then it's a pointless discussion. I agree that he hasn't gone about it in the right way, but your reaction is the kind of reaction that just makes a bad situation even worse.

I remember reading, almost certainly on here, that there were concerns at the club over Rose's personality issues. Would be a great shame if tabloids had exploited them to their own end.

Me too, but I also hope he gets back on board and knuckles down. He's been a dick, but everyone makes mistakes.

I'm intruiged by what JJ means by "different" personality. It's good to see the squad didn't give him a heroes welcome too.

Realistically rose probably isn't capable of thinking about anyone else but himself. I doubt he destabilised the season deliberately, I just think he's so unbelievably self absorbed he is unaware of the world around him.

He definitely is aware of the world around him, hence his unhappiness at 65K per week. His mate is earning more up north and he wants the same. Man Utd were successful for so many years partly due to Fergie refusing to take shit from anyone (incl Keane / Staam & Van Nistelrooy). Poch in a similar way has managed to get rid of a few players such as Townsend and Bentaleb and the collective spirit has helped us get to where we are today. He is not that good to turn a blind eye and go against your principles. People defending Rose because he is thick etc I just don't get. He is an adult and he has to accept the consequences.

Those going on about perma crock Shaw realise he's on double Rose's wages, right?

In that case forget that idea! Wimmer for Bertrand could be a good shout. Either way, we need a LWB imo. Rose will be gone this season or before next season.

Wow. Can't imagine his agent being happy about this either. Danny has a point, he needs to make as much money as possible from football, cause his non footballing side of the brain will not help him after the career is over.

I'd imagine his agent is fine about it as in the end it will probably see him sold for a large fee. Of which his agent will get a nice slice.

All this rose stuff ties in with what somebody posted a while back that saw him on holiday and said he didn't seem happy and told them he was unhappy that we weren't signing any world class played

I can't remember who posted it

I think he may get what he wants - but the key then is the response. We will have £125m plus in the pot then - if we buy well and break the wage cap it could still be positive. He is a top player, but we did cope better than expected without him and if he is so set on leaving that he would do that to the club that wont get solved with a slap on the wrist and an apology.
