Forgive me if I'm wrong but didn't Rob suggest the game changer was Breezer's mystery South American?
Could well be, all got a little hot and heavy in hear last night, was hard to keep track of what was ITK and what was grown men talking about power wanking.

Jose has no issue getting rid of players who don't conform to his regime, he doesn't care where they go, he'd send them to the gulags if it was an option.

Convincing Woodward to sell is the bigger issue, but he certainly seems to back his manager.

He does care mate. No way he would strengthen us when he's under so much pressure to win the title this season.

Mourinho yesterday's quote was

“I have faith in Martial;Probably, the player I was looking in the transfer market was not a pure winger, because I have pure wingers. The player I was looking for would allow me to play three at the back and do the wing-backs. As a pure attacking player, Martial is a good player."

While he talks well of Martial, he plainly states he is looking for a left Wing back.

If this has any legs it only happens on a Rose- Martial swap IMO.

Lets see how this plays out

True, he sold Mata to Utd when he was Chelsea manager after all.

HY's itk is promising, if true then it at least shows that we are looking at a a high calibrate of players for the front line. It also shows why it's taken till now for it to hit up at all, the Venn diagram of 'improves us: realistic target' has a tiny overlap and will almost always require a caveat (player hasn't performed/ isn't wanted, fee release clause/ momentary insanity causing confusion between Spurs white and Barcelona white, etc).

As for underperforming, he's 21 still, Henry had a poor time at Juve after leaving Monaco, but all the vitals are still there.

My God, Martial would be the game changer. What Pochettino could do with him is potentially frightening.

United would certainly be looking to recoup the majority of that 57 million though. We'd be smashing our transfer record that's for sure but he's the missing piece of the jigsaw - pace, trickery and a huge goal threat.

57m including addons. Their base fee was 36m. The rest were '25 goals in a season','Ballon D'or nomination' and '25 caps for France'. Big question though is how much we value Rose. But given Rose outburst, we may be willing to do a deal.

Also note the "as a pure attacking player" bit we know th Mourinho gets a bit funny if you aren't considered to be very good at defending. This is perhaps the bit where he is also giving himself a bit of lee-way if he did get rid of him- he could say well "he didn't defend enough for the team".

The ITK is very interesting on this one but also yes I definitely thought that Breezer's info referred to an experienced South American unless this is a new opportunity.

Regarding Foyth

Seems like this is done. Like others have said, Jan probably only has two more seasons so important to have replacements already signed up. But also we now have five CB including CCV so wel stocked there. Certainly points towards 3 at the back

To be fair that's what I see Foyth and Sanchez being Toby and Jan replacements maybe Tobys 29 in March and Jans 31 in April

Interesting development. With Barkley a main target, I'm guessing the game changer is the final piece of this transfer jigsaw. Can see things moving very quickly now with both ins and outs

I agree regarding the fee, but then we would pretty much be looking for Utd to match that with whatever they pay for Rose. Whilst it may not be a net zero transfer between the two players, frankly there's cases on both sides to show why their player should be the higher valued.

The other positive to this is that it puts us ins much stronger negotiating position for Barkley, as if we sign Martial then it would be less important that we sign Barkley IMO.

Agreed, im gonna take that as playing every week, at which point we might need to lessen the load a bit and save him for the bigger matches.

Yesterday Igijedi replied this when asked why we didn't announce Sanchez with Rose googling him.

We planned to do it but…

There's definitely something in that I think but it just got passed by cos we had so much to talk about. Maybe Rose is on the way out this window (as JJ said was possible) and we know it's not Chelsea, which leaves manure ....and Martial :)
