lol this is obviously bad but the knee jerking is still so ridiculous

No i won't "prepare for a long season" based off of one game

Get a grip
I agree but I do worry about our tactics on this Wembley pitch. Now that may all be resolved with our incomings and I do think the Sanchez signing alludes to altering to this but we are not quite managing games well enough.

Monaco, Leverkusen and even Gent all did the same to us, happy for us to play a high line as they knew they'd get space on the counter to take advantage of a set-piece. We can dominate these games all we like but it isn't the same at the Lane where we can pen teams in and break their will. We don't have as much control over the game as we'd like.

This is why a wide forward is pretty imperative to how we do at Wembley, someone who can help us get in behind quicker.
Also, Barkley would be a good option because he could help break that defensive midfield protection.

I thought Kane looked sharp today but every time he got into a promising position there was a Chelsea body in the way. Whilst I thought Eriksen was trying his best to make something happen. Dembele was a beast. Unfotunately Trippier and Davies couldn't quite make anything happen in the final third, which goes to show the need for someone like Aurier. They didn't play poorly just that they couldn't really get beyond Alonso and Moses enough.

Certainly had the opportunity to walk out of that with points, need to be smarter and less wasteful moving forward.

Big Vic off form all day.

Davies with some sloppy play.

We were very static up front. Sonny came in and started making the runs to stretch the CFC back line. Needed that earlier and more often from other players.

Not sure what purpose the Sissoko sub was meant to have.

Would have liked to have seen Son on quicker and Winks in the midfield as Vic and Dier don't give us the attacking initiative that we need in the middle of the pitch.

Can we practice taking corners please?
Wanyama had a shocker. Felt Alli needed to do more today.

Forgot to add, how the hell did Bakayoko get away with no booking... not that it matters much but a booking might have changed the way their midfield played...

We need athletes to compete against the better sides. Trippier & Davies just aren't good enough. The main difference between the last two times we lost to these fucks and the last time we beat them at WHL is we had Rose & Walker burning down the flanks when we beat them last. If we don't sign a Pereira/Aurier type before the end of the window it's going to be a huge mistake.

We just had a bad day, it's that simple. If we had been a bit more clinical it would have been a different story.

Can't believe some of the crap I'm reading.

Here is where a pinch of salt is needed mate. Emotions are high and judgement is clouded

Personally I thought we played quite well. We battered them for most of the game. None of their play was overly skilful (well the free kick was good) and silly mistakes cost us the game today. My goat of the match today was Hugo

Knee jerk city. We dominated the majority of the game. Yes it's upsetting to lose to those tools but I'm not worried. We played 100% better than we did In any Chapions League game and against the Champions. 1 free kick and a lapse in concentration from Lloris and Wanyama. We will come back stronger.

There's only so many 'unlucky' defeats to Chelsea at Wembley before you have to reassess whether it's really all 'luck'

It wasn't even how important Dier is it was the fact that Wanyama has just come back from injury and looked completely shot.

Small margins as usual :(
Dier has the ability to read the game from his position as DM/3rd CB. Wanyama though good, lacks the vision Dier has, even the passing range..But of course you are correct as well to say Wanyama was handicapped today due to his rustiness..

I only watched the second half, but for me we didn't create a lot of chances in that half. We had lots of possession but Courtois didn't have much to do in truth. Chelsea looked dangerous on the break and we didn't have much of an answer to their defensive tactics.
We didn't create a lot of chances because they were playing 5-4-1, today. There was zero space.

It was a puzzle that we couldn't work out.

I don't believe in the Wembley 'jinx' and I certainly don't believe Chelsea have some sort of 'hex' on us. What I do know is that an inexcusable and unnecessary flick of a heel from Alli gave away a free kick in an extremely dangerous area which they capitalised on to go one up. Constant pressure eventually brought about an equaliser from a most unlikely source but instead of holding the momentum and pressing for the winner we give yet another sloppy goal away to lose the match.Lloris definitely at fault with a schoolboy error at his near post. Lessons need to be learnt and quickly.

we dominated, hit the post, created umpteen chances, 16 odd corners, we shouldve won end of. 2 goals from a guy who might score 1 more this season.

disagree here. we dominated possession but i thought we created very little and as for 16 corners - what on earth did we do from them? Scraping the draw would have been a result from that showing. Slow, no cutting edge, poor individual performances against the worst Chelsea team in ages. Very disappointing.

We are too reliant on Eriksen to unlock the defence. I know Barkley isn't fit but get him signed up. We need another creative option.
Victor looked rusty to me. Lloris not at fault for the first but stinker for the second. Not disappointed with the effort but gutted at the result. If we play like that at Wembley every other week we will win most of them. Hopefully Poch will keep the boys heads up.

That performance would have been good enough to beat most teams. We still lack a bit of extra guile and quality at times.

They set up very well, like in the semi, hung in there and got the result.

I thought wanyama was poor all day and looked clumsy. Winks would have been better in this game.

Gutted obviously but we move on.

Look fair play to the guy, he's almost made me admit I'm wrong about him with his run of games at the end of last season, but seriously we can't have Davies playing all season at Wembley - we need someone pinned high and wide on that left touch line who can attack space. Hurry back Rose.

We have to beat Burnley. We were naive today: we should've played out for a draw. I'm very angry at the way that happened, because we were again the better team. That said, they were set up very well to defend.
You'll get shit for that and whilst I do want this team to have a winning mentality with 5 minutes left and having only just equalised it's sometimes better to just smarten up and make sure you don't give the opposition any space. For that goal about three of our players were in no mans land which allowed Alonso to slip in behind.

Today wasnt even that bad? We played better than any game we had there last season, we just conceded a great free kick and a silly sucker punch trying to put Chelsea away. It hurts, but theres no need for overreacting imo.

Different teams and different time periods. Silly stupid mistakes from Lloris and Wanyama. Doubt half the team were thinking of the game we lost 5-1 against them in the FA cup Semi Final from a few years ago.
