We need athletes to compete against the better sides. Trippier & Davies just aren't good enough. The main difference between the last two times we lost to these fucks and the last time we beat them at WHL is we had Rose & Walker burning down the flanks when we beat them last. If we don't sign a Pereira/Aurier type before the end of the window it's going to be a huge mistake.

And to all those saying we don't need a Walker replacement, that Tripper & KWP can do the job fine, and that Aurier is surplus to requirements..

I HOPE YOUR EYES ARE OPENED

Watching the game, I was itching to get Barkley into the mix. We needed more spark in the middle third, and I think he can provide it.

Another thing-seeing as our starting eleven basically picks itself, it is too easy for top class opposition to do their homework on us.

I officially hate Chelsea more than Arsenal

At least Arsenal as a club have some inch of respectability, literally everything about Chelsea, from their oligarch owner to their racist fans, is fucking scummy

P.s To any Chelsea fan reading this yes I am salty, now go fuck yourself
As if Chelsea fans can read.

It's this sort of game that leaves you wanting to play the next straight away. If we don't beat Burney that international break is going to be hell

So if Poch decided to run up and down the touchline when we score.......how would you feel about that?

If I remember correctly, Big MJ did something like this and fans were creaming themselves calling him "one of us" a manager that has a deep affiliation with the club......I think it was MJ...I'm sure someone will correct me
Poch is very restrained. In press conferences and during games. It is one of the reasons I am tremendously proud to have him as our manager. He oozes dignity.

I'm not sure Aurier is what we need really, to make the difference in this type of game
We need pace to come from somewhere to be able to take advantage of the open space on the big pitch. With both Davies and Trippier playing we don't have anyone who can run into space unless we drop one of Dele or Eriksen for Son.

Disappointment, frustration, anger, majorly pissed off. Make no mistake we were mugged big time. F u c k in g mugged.
Suck it up, hate it , wish it never happened, be bored of it, fed up with the repetition - but that is football, one of those days - we have better days ahead of us - let this be the lesson that SPURS us on! COYS!!!!

I think he does.. at least matched up to Alonso tenacity.. Trips has improved leaps and bounds..Compared to last few seasons if he was to play against bigger teams, he tended to be very reserved.. Today he beefed up to the game.. But Aurier can fuck Alonso times and again to begin with..

Davies on the other hand still looked timid to ram the flanks... keep playing back to Verts, until Son's introduction to give him more confidence to passing forward...

my concern with Barkley is that yes he will be another option but it feels a bit "more of the same", I'd take him but would still like a Mane type paced winger

Chelsea did the exact same thing that they did against us in the semi final last season. Let us do the running, we had 60-odd percent possession, umpteen chances to score or create... And they simply waited, stayed strong, and mugged us.

We were very good actually, but we need to be smarter and settle into this pitch asap.
Good post

100%. I will be nothing other than disappointed if we do not get a pacey winger/wing forward. Crying out for one for too long now.

Fucking unlucky today.

However unless we're playing a back three, I do not wish to see Dier, Wanyama and Dembele all on the pitch at the same time.

Lloris frustrates me so so so much. He is the captain & every big game, at crucial moments comes us with new ways to fuck us

He has 100 good games, but when you want that 1 big game, 1 big moment, he just cannot help himself.

I think that is harsh. They parked the bus and offered very little in attack. We just weren't clinical enough in and around their area but they also defended very well. On another day though one or two of our attempts would go in.
They played well and set up like Leicester I don't disagree, but we offered very little in attack and their goalie wasn't tested. We had a lot of possession by did very little with it.

Looking for an excuse? We didn't need any "game changers" on the field for this match. The 1st eleven today were more than capable and had the opportunity to have won this match outright.
Arguably. But look at how Son changed the mix. Yea we are capable but they soaked up our pressure, and mugged us when most vulnerable. Do feel a Son plus one type player would ask different questions
