I have been bagging this drum for a while now and would love for our club to get rid of some disturbing bad/poor habits. The constantly losing to Chelsea had been address somewhat at WHL but everywhere else unfortunately its the same old story we play extremely well however find ways to draw or lose whenever we play them.

Other poor records we have are against Liverpool at Anfield of late we haven't been able to beat them, Old Trafford had been addressed a few season back with consecutive wins however it seems we haven't won there for a bit. The Emirates welll we've only won once there since built now Wembley.

Wembley
Anfield
Stamford Bridge
Emirates
Old Trafford

Places this season I'd like to see improvements

Me too

But seriously now, these are not habits. These (aside from Wembley though the same principle applies) are simply the homes of the country's wealthiest and most successfulclubs. They will inevitably be the hardest places to get wins. It's not a matter of our bad habits, it's about how football works.

But yes, it would be nice to start proving we are at least their equals on their own pitches. I do sometimes believe they raise their games against us too. Chelsea for example certainly did last year, when we were the only team they bothered playing against in the second half of the season.

How football works?

Its not like we're a little club there's no explanation for the horrendous record we had not winning against chelski before we got our long awaited win at the Lane. Correct me if wrong I believe we have only won 4-5 times in our history at Anfield now that is Poor.

This season I would like to see a vast improvement against these hoodoo/ habits / myths however you'd like to word it.

Before Chelsea were doped we used to win there as often as we'd win at most other grounds. It's not a coincidence that since they got richer and better they got harder to beat.

So yes, it's how it works.

Nope - haven't won there since Lineker scored. 89 or 90? Chelsea were founded in May 2003

It is terrible, especially when you consider Palace have won their last two fixtures at both Anfield and Stamford Bridge before this season.

Fair to say that they still spent money like they had it to spend, they didn't but they still bought in the likes of Gullet and a galaxy of international mercenaries, it bankrupted them but they spent loadsamoney. The further explanation during the nineties is simple, we were shit.
Not to mention the fact that Tottenham Hotspur is the big derby for Chelsea football club and they always raise their game.

There's no myth. We just bottle it the moment we become uncomfortable and are taken out our comfort zone.

The biggest problem is that everyone coming here is going to be upping their game because it's Wembley. We're essentially going to have to play 19 cup finals this season.

This, from match thread, spot on.

The players may not believe Wembley is an issue, but the problem is the opposition truly believe we are cursed or beatable their and they come expecting a result and we saw United under moyes and van gaal when the opposition believed they often got something.
It is playing into opponents' minds they can get something more than us losing anything..

A thrashing of some team in Wembley is in highest order to get everyone perceive that fucking stadium is for us this season.

This was our own fault. Simple!

90th minute, 1-0 up, why are the full backs bombing forward. Players and Poch have to take the blame for this.

Also, whilst the players may not believe there is a problem, the fans do. The atmosphere at Wembley is awful - part of that is because it's an absolutely terrible football stadium almost deliberately designed to suck noise and atmosphere out as much as possible, with truly bad acoustics - and part of it is that a good 60% of the crowd at any time are extremely uncomfortable and/or nervous there, and it's hugely obvious.

It's the absolute opposite of White Hart Lane with the enclosing, deafening noise and a raucous crowd extremely confident of being able to beat anyone and everyone. It bleeds confidence into the players and Wembley does the exact opposite.

If they weren't they arent very bright.

Empty seats throughtout the sold out areas. Fans don't want to be there and it doesn't look like the players do much more.
There's so many seats and so much availability that no one feels they need to go.

I asked my brother if he'd go with me today, but he had something very minor on. In his words, 'nah, I'll go to another game soon instead'.

If there's more seats than demand, there's no urgency to go.

Would have done better to limit the capacity to 2 tiers for all games apart from CL and category A games
