my view is that gray is backup to rs if it doesn't happen, giving poch someone in a wide position he can work with and develop. I'm clinging to the hope that the almost-done wide-forward is the surprise present everyone appears to be very happy about.

herc was very specific about saying 'if it does happen'. this screams back-up to me. we'll see soon enough......

Hertyid on COYS responding to this info...

Barkely story makes perfect sense. No way we pay what they want given injury and contract.

Although Edmonton questioned the pre-agreement in January, saying he didn't think it was available to other domestic sides.
Yeah, was thinking the same thing. Fairly certain Edmonton is right re pre-agreements for contracts within the same league. Of course the ITK might mean we will buy him in Jan for a pittance from Everton who would be desperate to get something by that point instead of waiting till the end of the season.

Give the guy a break. Gray is what 20? (without looking it up). A relative youngster that people don't seem to want to even look at. Liking him to Sisokko? Seriously wtf? Let's have an instant scapegoat eh...

if we want to spend 30m on gray, then i'd prefer to see levy to use the money on sessegnon...

From the ITK yesterday it sounds like it's not the bid amount that's the problem with the RS deal, it's that Fulham's manager will supposedly walk of they sell him so they're loathe to do so.

Probably because we need to be compatitive now and don't splash 20 or 30 millions for an english N'jie...
I love the idea to get some young prospects as Sancho, Sessegnon or Foyth. But we have a great academy and now need for certain someone more proven.

It's just not one people are excited about.
With fans though, players are either jizz fests or total shit. There is no gray area.

and my boner has mysteriously disappeared

This was my initial reaction after dreaming about Di Maria but maybe Gray isn't that bad an option: he is pacey, young, can play up top and won't be expecting to start

All hinges on whether poch is on board with it or whether he is being forced to accept it because its better than nothing

Re Barkley: Foreign clubs can agree 6 months in advance, domestic clubs can't. Far as i'm aware we'd have to wait for end of season or end of June to sign anything on paper.

Re funding ITK from earlier: THFC Funding PLC was the entity that "tapped" (issued more of an already existing) a bond maturing in 2043 for 186mio GBP. That was a month ago. My bank was not involved in the deal, and the above is technically public information.

My feeling at the time, however, was it was stadium related, perhaps it was separate/in addition to the RCF the other guy mentioned if he works for a bank that was on a different transaction.

Is it one wide forward done, and another on the way?

Or one done (wide forward) and another (player who plays another position) on the way?
