Do you think Pochettino could develop Gomes from cultured central midfielder (like the FM reference?) to pacey wide forward

Medicals are not required to be done before the deadline. You can sign a player "pending medical".

I hope he's just a loan deal. I've never been impressed with him for Portugal but it's another body for early rounds of the Carabao Cup I suppose .

It's a terrible point!
Gomes is on a much closer level to Draxler and Rabiot in realistic transfer terms than Ronaldo or Messi.
It is reasonable to think we could have paid the money for Rabiot, certainly, if there were interest from both parties.

Yeah that what I was thinking about both him and Janssen. How they going to say yes to deals if they are playing tonight. I know their agent does the negotiating but the player still has to say yay or nay to the wages.

Most probably the idea of a transfer didn't grow today. Maybe everything is lined up and signed and it just needs one final piece to get the deals going
