I know the Sun have somehow been decent for our transfers this summer, but I really doubt this one.

Tottenham transfer news: Fernando Llorente on Mauricio Pochettino’s radar as Chelsea risk losing another target

MAURICIO POCHETTINO is weighing up a late move for Chelsea-target Fernando Llorente.

The Tottenham boss wants support for Harry Kane and Llorente is among the strikers under consideration.

I'm sorry, but how the actual fuck did the Sun become the most reliable source for Tottenham stories this summer. Broke the Gazzaniga, Sanchez and Llorente deals.

People seem to have forgotten how good Llorente is. He is a player at 32 who won't be slower, because he was never quick. He is a lot more than option late in games as many people seem to think.

He offers great hold up play, aerial ability and something that few possess, a goal scorers instinct at the highest level.

He may not suit our style of play entirely, but in terms of our needs ie a proven top level striker who will not expect to be first choice, we could not have done much better. When players like Demarai Grey are being quoted at 30 million, 12 million for Llorente is an absolute steal.

Good signing in my opinion and apart from Barkley we have had a good window. And we made a profit in the process!

All we need now is to get Rose and Lamela back and we are in business.

And the scum are a laughing stock.

Happy days

Guessing he'll either wear 18 or 9 if Janssen goes permanently.

Given 9 x 2 is 18 and tha the 18 shirt has become almost as famous as the 10 shirt for us (having been worn by the great Gerry McMahon).

The time it's taking to announce his number compared to aurier probably confirms this and therefore confirms the vinny talk.

Also very suprised with the way this turned out, made more more sense when rumours of a bid from WBA were floating for Janssen. (Aware he could still go).

In previous windows when we've been linked I have been a bit meh but this time I am very pleased,
I was always going to be hard getting a top striker in his prime without breaking the bank if then.
We tried the younger raw player to develop last year with less than successful results and at our current level we can't afford to rely on that so this is the perfect solution.
It may be that we still have faith in Janssen but know he will take more time and in Llorente he has a great mentor.
Where I sit on this is if Harry Kane catches a cold on the day we play Real Madrid will I still be hopeful with Llorente up front? Actually yes I will.

If we are chasing a game and had to get someone from the bench, then, to be honest, I'll feel more confident in Llorente over Janssen.

Plus he's used to being a sub for a top team. Didn't Juventus mainly use him off the bench?

Fucking hell watching his skills and goals for Swansea alone. We've signed an actual world class forward, he's scored and played at the highest level you can imagine. Was sceptical of getting him, NOT now.
