If you read what I said, the only reason I would part with him is because he's injured and we if we could of got someone fit it would have helped us now.

I agree we will not get much for him at the moment so it is a double edged sword. Let's hope for a quick recovery on all fronts!

I don't think it's mutually exclusive though. We have raised enough from player sales to still get someone in without selling Lamela anyway.

Pleat said on 5 Live yesterday that he was back in training - running again, etc

If that's true just as the transfer window closes it's amazing news! It will literally be like a new signing. He's better than any other option we have as back up for Alli/Eriksen/Son and if he gets back to form could push for a starting place.

I fear what a double hip operation will have done to his athleticism. He had very little speed anyway, so if he's lost any that would be bad. Realistically even once he's back playing it's going to be a long road back to where he was before the injury.

Spurs have been cagey about what exactly Lamela has been doing since he got back to training. My impression is that he's still not doing ball work. I could be wrong about that, but it honestly wouldn't surprise me if we don't see him till the new year.

As long as he's not hobbling around like Ozzy Osborne, we'll be alright. The players who suffer most from losing pace are those who built their game around it in the first place - Michael Owen, Fernando Torres, etc. The fact that Lamela's never really had any, means he's not going to miss it.

I'm not worried too much about Lamela's athleticism, his greatest strength is his ability to thread a pass and be more of a creator. Whilst he's great at the press, I don't think that will effect him too much. It's normally speedsters who really suffer from these injuries and long-lay offs. Pretty sure Lamela can adapt his game.

Hurry back please Coco.

Looking forward to the obligatory Instagram photo of the three Argentinians Lamela, Foyth and Gazzaniga. Preferably holding a cup of 'Mate'.

I believe that when he sees the level of players we've got and that to include the new ones, he will double his effort to ger back playing at his best.

The club needs to give us another update on Lamela. It'd be interesting to know a time scale, and how he's recovering. Unless he's had more set-backs, it can't be long until he's back to light training - wasn't he on an exercise bike two months ago?!

Bit frustrating having someone that talented and influential out for an entire year. Can't imagine how he feels when a career as a footballer is a short one.
