But he has reportedly turned down Chelsea because Liverpool have offered him a chance to play CM. So he'll be competing with Can, Henderson and (I think primarily) Wijnaldum, not the guys you've listed.
Wow, so you're saying they see the Ox as a defensive midfielder???

That would be crazy from Liverpools perspective if they're looking for him to compete with Wijnaldum / Henderson as the defence would have no cover at all

Remember that they play 4-3-3, not a 4-2-3-1. Chamberlain can fit in a 4-3-3 with one or two more defensive minded players IMO.

Who is this Pannacitta guy Chelsea have signed, any good?

We were linked with him as a Walker replacement at some point in the summer. I think he will do ok there in their system as he is a wingback. Paid over the odds for him though as he wasn't even first choice at Torino. Conte likes him, capped him for Italy when he was manager.

Yeah but he's not a good enough passer and when he played for England in midfield just gave the ball away all the time. It would be funny if he ended up being this seasons james Milner for them and ended up at left back.

I agree that he's never shown it, and his display for England in June was absolutely shocking. But Klopp clearly thinks he has something that Wenger hasn't seen, it'll be interesting to see if he can develop.

Turns out West Brom were not joking when they said they wanted 28 Million for Chadli. Swansea expected it to drop to 20.

Swanses missed out on deadline day on Arias (club wanted 14 million although hes available in jan on a pre contract)

Swansea also missed out on some right back from bristol really late in the window hard name to spell.

Overall been an interesting window

Chelsea have had a shocker as have arsenal.

I'm not disagreeing at all, I just like this idea that Chelsea signed Caballero, Rudiger, Bakayoko, Morata, Zappacosta and Drinkwater but we can all agree they've still had a shocker of a window.

As for Arsenal... yeah that's almost perplexingly dumb how they've handled this window and how they're club is being run at the moment.

I don't think he gets in the Liverpool CM. They've paid 35m for a sub IMO. He'll get in if they pick up injuries though.

Leicester still waiting on confirmation from PL that they were successful in signing Adrien Silva.

SSN saying Chelsea had 43 Outs this window. 43!! City: 36!

I guess this must include a lot of youth players, or players who've been out on loan so long you forget who their parent club was. Still crazy numbers.

The number of Outs for Spurs is 15. Liverpool 21, Arse 22, United 12.

Can people stop buying into the media bullshit that Chelsea had a bad window. They didn't at all.

It's like all the bullshit about how they supposedly had an injury crisis when we played them when in reality they only had Hazard missing through injury.

I feel like a little embarrassing is a better term. Chelsea had more public failings this window. So it was bad on that front. When you think of the fact that they seemed to be odds on favourites to get Lukaku, Llorente, The Ox and what happened with Barkley, Chelsea had a lot of their misgivings this transfer window happening publicly.

In terms of it being bad, it's bad in that sense that the reigning premier league champions who have more money than sense struggled to bring in their key targets when both the Manchester clubs (for the most part) did it with relative ease. So bad in context of both of that.

They still brought in good players... but overall it was at the very least embarrassing and bad in context with their rivals.

Well, they sold the likes of Chalobah (who's walked straight into the England squad) and Solanke for less than £10 million combined, loaned out RLC, and signed Caballero, Rudiger, Bakayoko, Morata, Zappacosta and Drinkwater for around £200 million or more.

Those three Academy prospects should, imo, have stayed as squad players (I don't see much between Chalobah, RLC and Drinkwater in terms of quality, and Matic is better than all three). The only ones of their signings that I'd have wanted at Spurs are Morata, and possibly Bakayoko. But neither Morata nor Bakayoko would have been starters here.

I prefer Aurier at RB over Zappacosta and Davinson Sanchez at CB over Rudiger.

So, given they're the PL champions, and had the financial muscle to buy the very best players, I think Chavski spent £200 million pretty poorly.

They were also turned down by Lukaku, Barkley, Llorente and Oxo, which suggests players don't think much of the culture there. :D

I have nothing against Danny Drinkwater, but I think he'll end up going nowhere at Chelsea. Reminds me of signings like Delph to City, Rodwell to City, Adam to Liverpool. That is, mid-career British players who look great for a smaller club, but for whatever reason can never replicate that when they move to a bigger club.

His career has peaked. He might go on to win a League Cup or and FA Cup sitting on the bench, but he will always be "one of those bang average Leicester players who had a freak good season".

Only exception was Kante, hence why he was the only one smart enough to move ASAP.

He'll only be a squad player once Bakayoko settles, but the difference between him and the examples you mention is that he;s got a brilliant partnership with one of their best players, Kante. In that sense it's a shrewd deal, he can slot in there, and play that defensive way both Conte and Leicester like, and launch quick counter attacks.

Chelsea have spent years looking for a replacement for Steve Sidwell - now they've got one.

He didn't even look great for Leicester, certainly not once he no longer had Kante alongside him doing most of the work.
