What's the difference between that and a simple fuck off? Players shout that at the ref all the time and you can even clearly see them mouth it on TV.

Yeah he's a bit of a twat for doing it, but there's too much being made of this.

There is a squad there that could get to the quarter finals easy. Get a lucky draw and could even get to the semis.

But there is no or very little chance with Southgate. He is tactically inept. England looked like his shit Middlesboro team from ten years ago.

So boring and passionless. A bit like him really.
We can't make progress in a competition with that goalkeeper.

Rooney used to regularly be in referees faces screaming at them red faced...

Mountain out of a ant hill.

Unfortunately, I imagine the 'Dele cam' exists these days to make sure no minor infraction is missed.

I like Butland and hope he gets a chance at some point - was looking good before his injury and now back into the swing of things.

I'd take him at Spurs too if we ever needed to replace Lloris.

If Pickford has a good season for Everton I would be inclined to pick him.

But GK's need time and experience and I'm annoyed actually that Hart has gone from potential cornerstone to calamity.

Actually I think all England gk's need to go on sabbatical to Germany and learn from the masters!

In addition, something needs to be done about that midfield. Dier and Henderson is too static. Perhaps when you need defense over creativity, but England desperately need a lock picker from a little deeper and perhaps when Dele gets older he will fulfill that role, but England are currently too predictable because no one carries the ball or moves it forward quickly enough.

Stifle the wing backs like Iceland did and we have no outlet and no midfield guile to compensate.

Bluemoon was funny at halftime yesterday. 5 pages of outrage that Walker and Hart were being blamed along with Rashford for the goal. Apparently just confirmed there is a conspiracy against their club o_O

Well it was disappointing to see such large sections of Wembley empty for an important qualifier, and the beach balls and general chat were out in force about 5 minutes in.

But having sat through all of it at Wembley I can understand why!

England were awful I thought. Henderson and Dier possessed all of the attacking flair of a drunk goose, and neither seemed to do a particularly good job defensively either (Dier was better in the second half).

Rashford looked occasionally dangerous and scored a great goal, but still flattered to deceive generally. Oxlade-Chamberlain was abysmal, and Sterling wasn't much better when he came on (although he runs fast so the crowd got excited).

Dele was poor, and Kane was isolated, and we didn't even get much from the full-backs. Add to that the fact that Joe Hart may as well be a hologram and we were lucky to get out of it with a win.

I think if Slovakia had had one player of quality upfront they'd have made more of their midfield dominance in the first half.

England will be better with Lallana in the team, as we were relying on Dele's creativity which isn't his game, but still, we best hope we don't get a hard group in the World Cup.

No idea why he played Dier and Henderson. Play one or the other with someone who can create. Expecting Dele to create anything other than in and around the box is wishful thinking. I thought Dele made some great runs into space but hardly ever got given the ball there. We are going to get tonked when we meet a half decent team in Russia.

Problem is too many of the front 4, including those who came on are selfish. That's ok from Kane, and actually he was the least selfish of the bunch a lot of the time, but Rashford, Ox, Sterling in particular all looked for personal glory.

Kane and Dele made some great runs but where almost never found. I don't blame Rashford so much, he has talent and is very young and eager to impress (and make up for the loss of possession that led to the goal). But what was Ox or later Sterling actually doing? I often think it abaout Lallana as well. Often he does too much himself when he should be looking for balls into Dele or Kane.

Not because they are spurs, but because that is the system! Yes, sometimes its best to utilise the space made by others to shoot yourself, but how often did attacks breakdown because Rashford, Ox, Sterling looked for their own glory?!

If that's how you want to play, then I would drop Dele, but honestly all you will get is head down, sprint, shoot from your entire front line. No interplay. Predictable, easy to defend against.

Every time Oxlade-Chamberlain received the ball ANYWHERE near the box it was a case of head down and try and shoot. I think you could say Kane, Rashford and Alli have earned the right do that occasionally but Ox? And everytime? Did my head in.

Ox was awful. He should have been subbed at least an hour before he was. And although I only saw it on the box, I thought Alli actually had a pretty good game. He kept making good runs and was the one getting involved and trying to affect the play most out of all of them. Walker's passing and positional sense made me think it's the best £50m we've ever conned another team out of. And agreed about the centre of midfield. But who have we really got to jink past people, provide the killer pass, be the world class playmaker we could do with?

Winks, eventually, maybe...

I think all of those type of players are still in the England U21/U20 teams, so maybe in the future, but I doubt we will have anyone in time for Russia, unless Ross Barkley massively steps up in the latter half of the season, with which ever team he plays for. Again, not sure about that either. Think we are stuck with Henderson and DIer and have to hope one of them learns to be more dynamic with their forward momentum and passing between now and next summer. So err... nope.

I think Dier has to play DM as we don't have any top class CB pairings. Reckon maybe Dele and Barkley could play together in front of Dier and create enough for the likes of Kane and Rashford. Would mean Dele dropping deeper which I think he's perfectly capable of.

That's where Dele played when younger. Think Jenas but with some skill.

If Winks plays plenty of games and does well. Especially in Champ Lge , he will be in the England squad. Used to take a few good seasons before getting in the squad, but now there are so few options that a good half season puts you in contention. Alli and Rashford are but 2 who have done it. Onomaha looks just the type of player England need, let's hope he comes through.
