Funny watching people moan about it being 14 seconds late. Doesn't matter. Not like FIFA dropped the deadline time announcement 2 minutes before it closed like some Worldwide supermarket Tannoy announcement of a limited run store bargain. Don't like the cutoff point? Get your business done in time like every one else

Exactly. According to some on here we only start our transfer window at 10.50pm on Deadline Day and we still manage to get it all done.

I like this rule. No room for misinterpretation like FFP

Alright they are the ones who put themselves in that position leaving the deal to the last minute, but I do think this is a bit harsh. If only FIFA was so zealous on racism, corruption etc....

I know it's all hypothetical, but it'd be interesting to know if they would have been more lenient had it been United.

Its good that this has been flagged prior to him playing games so we don't have that bodged solution to the issue of West Ham and their Tevez deal.

Entirely Leicester's fault as far as I'm concerned.
Clearly they didn't want to submit paperwork until they knew Drinkwater had signed for Chelsea, but they could have submitted it, then cancelled if the Drinkwater deal fell through.
Sky were reporting that they were in talks to sign the player during early afternoon, so it's not like it was a decision made at 10.59pm to try and get him.

They almost made it.

For some reason you never hear ambulance drivers saying this.

Exactly. They can say what they like about it being "only" 14 seconds but the fact is you shouldn't be messing around trying to get it all sent off that close to the deadline anyway. Just because the deadline is at 11pm (for argument's sake) doesn't mean you have to send it bang on the deadline, that's the absolute latest you need it sent by. No excuse from Leicester really, absolute amateur hour. Zero sympathy from me.
