You cant post anything negative about Lamela on this website. I remember getting spammed to oblivion for having the temerity of suggesting that maybe he wasn't actually that good. Sacrilege!
You mean the Lamela thread being locked for good? The reason the lamela thread was locked was because people were busy spewing preposterously wrong, boardering on illegal slander

So has any one watched dortmund this season yet?
Yes. Once or twice. There a good team. Dembele was a loss for them but there still extremely dangerous. Pulisic and Aubemayeng are special talents. Reus is still injured i believe

Rose has played well for us for more than 1 season. Rose is a prick for his comments but it doesn't mean he's not a good player and actually been an integral part of our growth under Poch.

Kane has scored 20 goals 3 seasons on the spin and won 2 golden boots.

Lamela has done very little of note bar 15/16. He hasn't earned the respect that Kane can command.

It's nothing to do with liking him or not. I thought after the way he started last season he was going to be an important player for us. But we didn't miss him last season. We finished 2nd without him. We went on a run of 13 win in 14 games, scored the most goals in the league without him.

In regards to Kane, Alli, Eriksen. Those guys have been consistently good for us over the last 2(Alli and Eriksen) and 3(Kane) seasons. So it's completely different with them.

I'm done with this Lamela nonsense now.
It's not that I don't like the guy. I dont have any agenda against him. I get hes had setbacks. I understand he's had personal issues. I just think he doesn't have a future with our club. I think we could spend his wages on our important players like Toby, Dele, Rose, Eriksen. Players who have been consistent for us. Regardless of Rose as a person, he's an excellent footballer and one we should be striving to keep.

last seasons ending didn't include Rose.

was you 1 of many on here having ago about our 5-1 loss to Newcastle?

do you know why Rose never started? if not, all I can tell you he wasn't very professional in the build up that week.

at least Lamela hasn't come out and criticized the club via any link, and there was a story of him being out with Rose I believe when we was chasing Leicester. apparently Rose turned to Lamela and said "we should get top 4", Eric replied "no! we are going to win it".

yes Rose might of got it right, but i'd rather Eric's fight and ambition

Have we got our money's worth on Lamela? Definitely not, but like Sissoko and Soldado, he isn't responsible for what we choose to pay for him.

Has he been a failure? No. As @talkshowhost86 rightky points out, in 15/16 he was integral to our pressing and our movement of the ball. He doesn't back it up with goals/ assists stats but his attitude and instinct are worth several points a season when fit. See Manchester City, both games, that season for evidence.

Has he been a success? Also no. He has spent more than 50% (and rising) of his Spurs career injured, he has never been consistent and his role in the team is still up for debate four years on from becoming our record signing.

There are currently three players in our attacking midfield positions definitely ahead of him on merit given their contributions last season. There are two others in Sissoko and Nkoudou who have at least half a season to put themselves ahead of him. Then there's the purportedly likely arrival of Barkley and hopeful emergence of Edwards, which will be taken into account when assessing how useful/ necessary Lamela will be going forward.

The guy is now in the final two years of his contract and we've not renewed him, that speaks volumes. He faces a very hard slog to make it with us even if he proves hit fitness.

Not that it's relevant to the thread, but the summer Pochettino joined, on holiday in I believe the Caribbean, Danny Rose was quite open about the fact that he wanted to leave and didn't give a shit about the club.

His performances since are all I care about ultimately but I wouldn't trust him as far as I could throw him and if we are able to improve on him (big if I know as he is very good now) then I would happily take a big offer for him.

Plenty of tickets left for Dortmund match, doesn't look like getting anywhere near the 85000 achieved for first two CL games last season but with price hike of 33 to 50 per cent for single match tickets who can blame fans for staying away, do football clubs think fans have bottomless bank accounts!!

Total farce of a pricing structure this season. I fear it's about testing the ground for, well, the new ground and seeing if they can comfortably and consistently get 60k attendances.

Ticket Question which I didn't want to create a new thread for as I imagine the answer is obvious: Are the Champs League tickets for Lilywhite members (especially for the multi-game package) loaded onto our access cards or are they sending out paper tickets? The e-mail confirmation only refers to Bronze members, which is what has made me question it.

I've already e-mailed the club and heard nothing back.

If you're on Twitter, ask the Supporters trust. They'll respond quicker than the club.

In 15/16 Lamela had 9 assists and 5 goals .....not too bad at all. That was an improvement on 7 assists the previous year. I think he was really on an upward curve in all aspects of his play when injury struck.

I agree he was on an upward curve, I expected him to be our break out player last season, but when I say 'backs up with stats' I think of the levels of Eriksen and Dele.

If you already have your stadium access card the match ticket will be preloaded on to it ,if however you've just recently became a member as in my case and haven't received your card yet you will recieve individual paper match tickets, my two for the dormund game arrived in the post yesterday
