Breaking: Redcafe sources understand that Alli is average

I already said it months back in this thread but he is vastly overrated IMO. He wouldn't be rated anywhere near as highly if he wasn't at Spurs. He is quite a lankly young man currently and that makes him somewhat clumsy. His first touch isn't good, his feet aren't quick enough and he isn't agile enough currently be a great player in the attacking midfield/number 10 role where he usually plays. He's scored some very good goals here and there but his all round game isn't any better than the likes of Lingard IMO. Alli is better in the air that's about it.

What exactly is Alli markedly better at than Lingard? Other than heading which I mentioned, I just don't see it. I don't rate either of them highly but Lingard would do as good, if not better in that England team in the same role.

He is not streets ahead of Lingard. They are both average. No idea which Alli you have been watching but he isn't any good at dribbling and rarely goes past anyone. He will be at a mid table club in 5 years or on the bench for Spurs.

No it won't make any difference as Lingard would get similar numbers when played in Alli's position for Spurs. He is a bench player for us so the goals scored comparison is a little misleading.

Many football fans argue like movement and positioning is a mere afterthought. Lingard is a handy player and quicker than Alli, but there's a reason why he's best known for dabbing whereas Alli is a 20 goals per season player.

Bang on. There might not be a great deal between Dele and Lingard technically but Dele reads the game at a world class level and Lingard reads the game at League Two level.

I do get it though. We all know that he isn't the smoothest player in the world. He can play 70 minutes of a game tripping over the ball, only to score two screamers at the end. His work off the ball is what makes him world class.

I read that on RedCafe and to be fair literally every other poster is calling him out for his idiocy.

I think RedCafe is fine for the most part but more often than not they go OTT in their Spurs criticism because Glaston is always arguing with them so they they show their bias more, I reckon if Glaston wasn't on there half of them wouldn't care about Spurs or want to get one over on him.

Everton fans are saying stuff...

Be very interesting to see what side he puts out Saturday and what formation. Will he rest Williams and play Jags due to Williams having played 2 international games and let Keane and Jags try and take care of Kane?

Spurs play very sexy football so knowing cautious Ron he will try and stifle them IMO, so I think we can expect a safety first approach. Gana to maybe be occupied by Ali

Think I will give Ali the finger on Saturday.

5 defenders, 2 defensive midfielders and 3 number 10s. Desperately hoping to nick a goal from a set piece. Tedious 0-0 draw.

Hope Lewin plays up front against Alderweireld and Vertonghen, would be a good battle for him that.

Mate who works for a bus company said they've just had a call from Everton asking to hire two buses to be delivered just before 3 o'clock Saturday.

Huzzah!

Back to business. Spurs are excellent and will dominate possession. With Wanyama injured I think they keep Dier in midfield and go for a 4-2-3-1.

I think they'll stick with Walker-Peters rather than throw in Trippier (been injured) or the new defensive signings (not trained with them)

We need something from this one before we get a good ol' fashioned dry bumming from that fella wot used to play for us, next Sunday.

I think this will be the usual Goodison park draw, expecting Kane to get his 1st or the new forward to score on his debut if he players for spurs,,i am sure but i might be wrong that spurs are one of Rooney's fav teams to score against, i think i seen that in the week we signed him,so i will go for him.

I'm bringing my nephew to this, his first ever Everton game.

He's a Spurs fan though...

If you can dominate possession and smother us then we could be in trouble. I'd expect a tight and tactical match in that case.

If we can keep possession fairly even it has the potential to become more open but I would still expect it to be low scoring, as both teams are difficult to score against.

Spurs are overhyped

We aren't very good

1-1 draw.

Had a grim dream that we lost this 4-1 a few weeks back.

I hope this isn't the case... I think we'll do em for the draw.

Everton 743-4 dec. (Rooney, 186; Sandro, 151; Gilfi, 80 not out; DCL, 67)
Spurs 219 all out (Kane, 92-follow on enforced) and 404 for 8 (Kane, 112; Erikson, 109; Dele Ali, 54)
Bad light stopped play
Match drawn

Not arsed about a result. I'm convinced this lot have tapped up Ross so I'd like it if we could just clone 10 more Besic's and forgo the football for a Thunderdome type of contest ending in multiple broke Spurs players.

Bar that I'd just like to see us look like we know what we're trying to do going forward on the ball.

Seems like Spurs' stars have had a much better international break than ours so they'll either be a bit tired or they'll be full of confidence. Especially Eriksen who bossed every match he was in.

Eriksen makes them tick. Wanyama is out though so they may not be as tough in midfield.

This will be a proper game, Spurs will fancy their chances of a win and surely we need to be thinking about beating them.
I only thing I can say with certainty is that I haven't a clue what will happen.

Can't see us winning this sadly

They're better than us in pretty much every area of the pitch

Don't remember us beating Spurs at home that often...and a quick record check shows the last time we beat them, home or away, was Dec 2012. That's piss poor, we should have beaten them since then. Since then we've drawn 5 times and lost 4 times.

Stats suggest it'll be a low scoring game, but more likely a 1-1 draw. Can see the latter.

I expect to win.
They are a good side but we are at home with new players wanting to establish themselves. We are an unknown quantity and with the backing of the fans we can get the 3 points.

Fancy us to win this .

Koeman knows how to get results against everyone at home and spurs have had a wobbly start to the season.

Although they might find it easier away from Wembley

See the snide alli is being "investigated" for his "koff" gesture at the ref at the end of the England game.....Besic needs to get into this cheat tomorrow.

Meanwhile Iran actively ban women from watching the national team and the authorities do nothing

But Delle Alli flipping off his mate deserves investigation?

Football is broken

Wayne Rooney winner written all over this.

I will say this, if we can win this it could end up being the equivalent of when we beat Chelsea 1-0 at home during 13/14 and it kick-started our season

Deffo captaining Kane for this one. ( :ROFLMAO: )

Biggest game off the season, 1 0 with Rooney to score the winner !!!!

I think it's interesting to read what their fans think of Koeman and their side considering some of the drivel I read in our itk forum during the summer from the bedwetter brigade when we hadn't spent £100m on players on the first day of the transfer window. I think I recall some referencing Everton's spending, getting their targets in early so they had a full pre-season while Levy fucked around, missing our targets and letting Poch down..

easy win 3-0

Was looking for the white text that said 'for Tottenham', but it's not there. You feeling okay?

Schneiderlin coming back is a big plus.

Kane will start banging in the goals now August is out of the way. (y)

0-2

Didn't Burnley turn these over.... awful

These have been head and shoulders above us for a few seasons now.

When do we start questioning koeman?

We're light years away from Spurs.

Being outclassed again like at Chelsea. Just shows how much work is needed to reach the level of the top 4.

Alderweireld more creative then any of our players

2nd best all over the pitch

We've wasted 45 m on Sigurdsson who is useless in this system , likewise Klaassen

Do one Koeman. Think we have another fraud on our hands. Doesn't look like he has any clue what his best team is.

Clueless fat-headed tit

Looks like season where we finish 10th using transition as an excuse. Bloody awful.

I've always kinda/sorta liked you Spuds. Plz show mercy.

150m to be worse than last season. What are we actually paying Steve Walsh to do?

Half Time

Spurs should be out of sight by now

We should be 5-0 down.

Jesus, I've had enough of watching this dire, turgid football. We'll never be anything again.

lets hope we dont lose koeman to barcelona eh?

We haven't had a shot on target now in a game and a half. Lucky to be only 2 down should easily be 7/8.

Watching hurricane coverage is more pleasant than this

What style and system is Koeman trying to play. Gylfi and Klaassen anonymous. Rooney poor, Sandro and Martina shocking. Sissoko and Dier running the midfield

We haven't had a shot on target in 2 1/2 hours of football...... Spurs have had 11.

The most positive news of the summer was that Koeman and Walsh both knocked 3 shots off their handicap, #progress.

3-0

Fortress Goodison blown away by clueless tactics with clueless players.

Garbage recruitment. Garbage tactics. GTF

Nevermind - Old Trafford next... *Off to Macro to stock up on bleach*

can you remember when people were saying we were going to challenge the top 4 ? howl loll this team is total crap in every way.

Schniderman having a total stinker.

Serious questions about the manager after this

I'm calling out Schneiderlin. Sorry but just another hyped-up Tom Cleverley in much of what I have seen to date from him

Can people honestly blame Ross for wanting to play for Pochettino who seems to have a tactical plan?

This is as bad as I've seen in years

Spurs dont even have a lot of pace, but the movement is fantastic.

Come back Martinez

I'm just off to my shed. When I get to my shed I will power-sand my ass and take a bath of lemon juice. It cannot be more painful than this. :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

Turns off . I have a bath that needs scrubbing

As feared when we signed him, sigurdson is an absolute waste of 50 mil, he doesn't do anything at all from open play

What do they do in training?

Ronnie only works 3 days a week mate... one of those is matchday

This could have been 8-0. Shockingly bad.

We should be about 6.0 down

Watching this and my eyeballs are suing me for cruel and unusual punishment ...They even tried to jump out of their sockets

One team spent 150m in the summer and the other spent 50m.

Problem is...Spurs haven't got out of 2nd gear.

And don't they also have 9 players in the starting lineup on international duty as well?

We've been pretty decent apart from our defence, midfield and attack imo. Almost had a shot on target

Koeman's Southampton were never this bad

Koemans Southampton was pochetinos team

I wish Ross was playing for them at least we would have more possession in midfield

Ross is going to love sitting on their bench.

the away fans just looking bored is the saddest thing I've saw today

Look on the bright side, 9 years ago Spurs began with 2 points from 8 games and still survived. We've already got twice that.

Not saying I want Martinez back, god forbid, but come on, this is as low as it gets, we may never score a goal again.

Harry Winks on

they just threw on a 14 year old

We can't even do throw ins properly.

Swansea is ahead of us with a game in hand

i hope the Spurs fans train home gets cancelled.

2 corners in a row, the good times have returned

Thing that's driving me nuts is that Tottenham aren't playing well. They are just stood around waiting for us to give them the ball and then having a dig. It's like watching a three year old trying to hit his dad who just has one hand planted on the kids forehead whilst drinking a beer from the other

Looking a bit like Spurs when they jizzed all the Bale money everywhere with no real plan.

If Everton were a model
