" Sky will be able to stream midweek Championship matches after agreeing a new £600m five-year domestic rights deal with the English Football League.

All EFL clubs will be able to stream midweek league games via their websites if Sky are not broadcasting it live.

The contract will run from 2019-2024, with the value of the rights increasing by 36% from the present agreement.

Sky will also continue to broadcast the Carabao Cup, Checkatrade Trophy and play-offs until May 2024."

The bit I highlighted, the sooner this comes in for Premier League clubs also the better

Wahoo, baby steps towards something that could and should have been in place 5 years ago. Pleased with the direction of travel, frustrated by the foot-dragging pace.

Once (or if) Premier League clubs can stream live from their own websites and assuming you would have to pay for it, that will open up another whole bag of worms.

How much of a supporter are you? Will you cough up and smile or continue to source from dodgy sites for free and then have the cheek to complain at how much the club spends on transfers etc etc? Is one possible scenario IMO.

Another is each club having a decent stream to begin with.

Personally, I think If it comes to the PL, Sky should have a dedicated channel for each club and you pay to watch each game seperately or buy a season ticket package for home and away games at a reduced rate.

But either way........How much a supporter are you? Talk the talk or walk the walk?

I think it's an interesting and possibly devisive issue :D

We have a good away support but some clubs will struggle with this. Until the cheque arrives.

I'd expect BT, Google/Youtube to bid against Sky for certain clubs rights, the rich clubs will get richer

If Spurs are charging a yearly subscription at a reasonable price then I'd pay as long as the content was available in HD and always accessible. I pay my Sky sub to watch football but mostly Spurs, don't care about the other matches because I'll either steam them for free or I'll catch the highlights.

Which is why I think it's possible SKY could host the thing as a dedicated Spurs channel.

I'm not going on about 'normal' Sky subs. Just the possibility of a dedicated Spurs channel and the extra cost (PPV style) that would bring.

IMO if and when it happens they'll probably do it one of these two ways.

I would pay just to watch Tottenham....

Over here they actually had it for a season... Where u pay to watch only a selected team. + finals.

Pity they only gave the option for Man Utd, Liverpool, Arse and chels.

Anyway... Hopefully it will boost the EFL. and give us a chance to take a look at your younger players out on loan at those clubs.

I would pay through the nose for a legit televised/streamed Spurs season ticket. Through my substantial nose.

It will happen eventually but I think pricing will be a big issue. I've seen plenty of times on here and other sites people saying they'd happily pay £15 /m for access to every match but that sort of pricing would clearly hit the live attendances so it would have to be far higher. How much was the cheapest season ticket, about £650? I'd say it would have to be approaching that for the clubs to be interested.

If Tottenham charged 6.99 a month Netflix style I'd be more than happy to subscribe but you know it would be more like £20 a game.

no thanks .

Roll on amazon taken it all

I pay more than that annually for Sky Sports now

Not a sky customer so i've no idea what anyone pays but I didn't think people were paying over £50/m for just the sports, are HD prices and the basic packages included in that?

I don't like the seat I was allocated at Wembley, no where near as good as the view I had at WHL & I've been moaning away to the Ticket Office, because I'm getting to the point where I'd rather watch on TV than from the stands.

If the same were to happen in the new stadium I'd seriously consider my options.

Will be interesting to see how/if this impacts attendances.
