Sashoua isn't that short, he's just got a slender frame. But thats something he can work on, much better than Mason was at his age, and frankly in his position its not unusual.

Size isn't as a big deal as people make though. When Barca where at their peak they were also the shortest side in Europe. What matters is balance, having a low center of gravity and sometimes developing some upper body strength.
While I personally agree, I'm not so sure the same can be said of Pochettino. He seems to favour players who are big, strong and powerful runners. Eriksen is really the only exception to this, but what he lacks in power he makes up for in aerobic capacity.

That's not to say that a player can't make it under him if they're not powerful, but he does seem to prefer that type of player.

what a performance, so many excellent individual performances, along with a coherent well coached team effort. Looking forward to the league cup fixture hopeful get to see something like this:

Sub: Gazza,Tanganga,Trippier,TOB,Skipp,Sterling,Griffiths

KWP Foyth Sanchez Bennetts
Winks Wanyama
Edwards Sissoko GKN

The team actually got stronger after the subs with shashoua and roles coming on. Awesome team. My MOTM is edwards closely followed by skipp and then pretty much everyone else put in a good shift to say the least. Bennetts and brown were awesome; tanganga is looking like a player above this level; austin was very calm, very vocal and very good; the subs all had some nice touches. In fact the only player who was a bit below his usual level was TOB and he still worked hard all game. Well pleased with that effort.

Does eyoma normally play at RB? He looks more like a CB?

Liked Lallana didn't he?

I wouldn't call Alli a strong and powerful runner either.

Not sure wanyama will be fit and I'd be starting toby or jan in that defense over sanchez otherwise it'll be incredibly young and inexperienced. More than happy for winks to start and even to see KWP, bennetts and edwards get starts too. More likely that kwp plays at LB and would be happy to see bennetts at LW over sissoko (not because he's been bad this season but because he doesn't need to play in these games) with gkn on the right and edwards in the middle.

Dele is 6ft+ and an athletic beast. When he first arrived it was remarked how surprised Pochettino, the staff and the players were by his athletic prowess in the running drills.

Lallana is a bit like Eriksen though, he's excellent aerobic/anaerobic runner without being powerful. There seems to be room for that type as well.

But at Spurs Eriksen and Trippier are the only two outfield players that have been regularly selected who aren't ~6ft or a powerful runner like Rose developed into.

Edwards was obviously superb.Really like bennetts got everything to be a top class wing back pace and size and a great touch.Aldo really like Roles ,he does remind me of a young Gerrard tall and wirey great touch and scores goals. So many that could potentially make it very exciting.

Does Bennetts normally play wingback because he wasn'tyin this game? In fact, Brown looked decent at fullback in this.

Of course Wanyama only plays if fit, gave him the nod bc it'd be nice to give him a run out to get fit and provide some expierence/leadership. Went for Sanchez over Jan or Toby because I think they're going to be used to bits this year with this being one of the few competitions that we can afford to not overuse them. Plus I like the idea of pairing the two spanish speaking lads together.
KWP at LB is more likely but I think Bennetts opportunity to have a biggest impact on the 1st team is at LB/LWB so I love the idea of this lineup.
Either way I'd just be happy if Marcus gets a start and hopefully if he does he'll take his chance and really add a great new dimension to the 1st team.

Yeh he is athletic, but I'm saying its not power or strength. Its just fitness. It was remarked that he essentially out preformed everybody in the modern version of the bleep test. No reason a small scrawny guy cannot match anyone else in terms of fitness.

I think if you're a willing runner, with high fitness levels and willingness to learn, you can make it in a Poch side.

Shashou reminds me of Alex Pritchard, great balance, technique, and eye for a pass. Think he's a long term development project, but he has an amazing skillset that we shouldnt just give up on due to his size.

We got let off lightly today, lads: they didn't bring their 12 year-olds (*cough!*) to the party...

Youssoufa Moukoko: 12-year-old scores three in two games for Germany U16s

The father of a 12-year-old boy who has scored three times in two under-16 internationals for Germany has rejected doubts about his son's true age.

Cameroon-born Youssoufa Moukoko followed his debut goal against Austria on Monday with a double against the same side in a 2-1 win on Wednesday.

He has also scored 13 goals in five games for Borussia Dortmund Under-17s.

"Straight after the birth, I registered him at the German embassy in Yaounde," said his father, Joseph.

"We have a German birth certificate."

According to his official birth certificate, Moukok was born on 20 November, 2004 in Cameroon.

There have been some questions in the German press over the youngster's true age, but the German Football Association (DFB) has said all the paperwork is in order.

"The DFB has already had a number of intensive discussions with Borussia Dortmund at various levels," it said in a statement.

"There is no doubt about the correctness of the age of the player."

Under DFB rules, Moukoko will not be allowed to play in the Bundesliga until he is 17.

Eriksen is 5.10 he is not small, most prem players are big units, mason was 5.10-5.11 not met winks but when you meat the firs team you feel small.

It's rare to see a small player succeed who does not have a tonne of pace, but Edwards has such ability today he was a class above.
