Can the thread creator please change the thread title to add - 'Jan Vertonghen received a second yellow card CONFIRMED' thanks.

When is Wanyama due back ? I'd imagine if it's in time we'll simply slide Dier back into the back three and put Wanyama at DM

Wouldn't be surprised if we went to a back 4 against Apoel.

Mauricio: "It means more than three points. To build our confidence, trust and feel at home at Wembley is so important."

Poch could not have said this any better. This wins gives us a plan B going forward.
Hopefully we win against Swansea this weekend - then we can bury the 'Wembley voodoo' for good.

I don't think so. First half we were just far too deep. I was shouting at us to push out all half. Second half the centre backs were much higher up the pitch letting us squeeze the game and stopping them getting the ball out wide where they threatened us first half. I think that's why we were better. Poch always wants us to play higher up the pitch. I can't imagine he was happy with us sitting so deep for the first 30/40 minutes.
I agree with ya totally about us playing too deep but seeing how much more energy we had second half and they didn't made me think that we may have just let them play out their game first half and start our high line and pressing in the second. Fact is they looked a lot more tired than we did come the second half. IMHO it felt like, let em do then let us do. Either way it was a joy to watch us take apart a team of that stature

Unusual and fun watching us be a counter team for once.

We aren't exactly the fastest team but even Davies had them on toast a few times tonight, they seemed a bit slow defensively bvb.
Regarding Davies, always liked him as a second choice but that boy has done some serious leveling up!
Spent his new attribute points on pace, vision and intelligence

If we get anything in Madrid i'll do any forfeit you like that involves me stripping naked, a buttplug, two leeks, an albino pit pony, a feather duster, a can of squirty cream, one Romanian weightlifter dwarf and a gas mask.
Too specific not to be spoken off from a pleasurable experience. We'll chose something different if you don't mind.

After what he said pre-match, I'm glad we (and the officials ;)) prevented PEA from getting on the score sheet.

Anyone notice how negative Jermaine Jenas was tonight? Takes me back to his playing career for us when he used to go missing or when we would bottle games and truly made me feel this is the same mentality he had on the pitch, and a mentality that was probably shared or influenced by him on the pitch and in the dressing room.

E.g. we're 1-0 up and concede a goal in the 70th minute....Jermaine's thoughts "we're gonna lose this now", we go a goal down inside 10 minutes...."we're gonna lose this now" etc etc.

I think he's a good pundit, he's definitely more intelligent than your average pundit....but tonight felt like a window into his mentality when he was a player. Nice bloke, a bit weak though.

I really like him as a pundit, and you're right he's definitely intelligent and articulate.

But sometimes the brighter ones have more awareness and see/find more angles/reasons to be negative.

Then you get the real thick fucks who ooze confidence lol

Never expected us to get the win tonight.

Two victories over APOEL and 1/2 points from our other three fixtures should see us go through I reckon.

2 extra goal difference has put us in a great position. If Dortmund plays same way against Madrid, they will take them to cleaners.
Dortmund away & Madrid at Wembley is also key games

I thought he looked completely out of his depth 1st half but he was incredible in the 2nd.

Found the attendance odd.
After the cock up that was our CL run last year? And considering our former 'Wembley issues" I don't find it surprising. People will pack it out now I think.

Meant to ask that bout as I was surprised by all the empty seats even though we sold out a europa tie against a bunch of unknowns.

Is the pricing harsher this year. If I was in the area would've loved to have been there

Fantastic result and performance! Long over due at Wembley!

Was surprised to see us deliberately stand off them so much, I suppose it worked albeit I was surprised PEA didn't get on the end of at least one of their through balls.

Aurier looks a real talent, can see him being a favourite quickly, bloody hell is loves a slidey doesn't he!

Sanchez looked a little nervy at times and got caught under the ball several times, but there is deffo a player in there!

Still a bit meh about Wembley, but it's certainly better after a win!
