Eriksen is by some distance our most influential player, and I know many on here would happily see him play as a playmaking 8 in a 433, and I'm not totally averse to the idea (he also played there for Ajax) but I just think International football is almost a polar opposite to the PL, and I still prefer him in that next layer as an CAM, but one that drops back continually when needed. I think as an 8, the one thing he lacks to be a great one is that ability to move with the ball, i.e. jink round tackles and break a layer that way. That said, I wish I'd recorded the Denmark game now and had a good watch of how he played, that was a good result against a decent Poland side wasn't it, and it looked like Eriksen's stamp was all over it.
It was a joy to behold mate. Ranks up there with the results in 92 and against Brazil in 98. Good days to be a Dane!

I think he's the most unique player in the squad.

Even when Kane was injured we dealt with it. He's the player I fear losing the most

Yep, if he gets injured for more than a game or two, we would end up really struggling as there is no one in the squad who could even get close to what he brings to the team.

So that's 2 goals and 3 assists in 2 games :joyful::happy: He's hitting his stride at the perfect time.

He was far from his best tonight against Dortmund, but even still he had an overall decent game.

Genuinely think he's at least as good a player for us now as Modric was when he left us (recognising that Modric arguably went up another level after finding his feet at Real Madrid). He's world class right now.

I agree. I said the exact same thing in the Eriksen vs Ozil thread. He's about to hit his stride - I hope we can keep him.

20 - Christian Eriksen has provided 20 assists in all comps in 2017; 7 more than any other player in the big 5 European leagues. Creator.

UEFA's webpage says that Eriksen is second in most km covered so far i CL. He ran 12,715 km in the game against Dortmund. Only Diawara from Napoli ran further (12,856 km)
