I.think City will bid big in the summer for him.

But if we sell any of our key players domestically, well I can't see it.

Imagine selling your key assets to teams finishing below you.

New stadium on the horizon, it's not goings to happen.

If Barca, Real, PSG or Bayern come in an offer insane money for a player who really wants to go, that's a different story.

Don't see anyone else affording any of our key players. Big Clubs in the prem just won't be an option and will be ridiculously priced out.
I don't think City or Utd will be priced out of any player they really want. They have the money and will pay the price. Mourinio has already said he has told the board whom he wants go and get them whatever the price. So if they want Dier or Aldo or whoever then they will offer what ever it takes. I just hope it's not any of ours.

No new contract or new signings announced until the Nike deal kicks in. I think 1/7/2017 is the date in the diary for a lot of goings on.

Yep, some people think I'm daft but I always leave all of my important dealings until I have bought a shiny new shirt to wear o_O

Of course that's what I meant, I'm discussing marketing and announcement of deals . Not the signing of the deals.

Say the club get Toby under a new contract. There is no rush to announce it. The announcement makes it no more binding.

The same stupid notion about signings etc gets peddled every summer, it's simple clutching at straws by those that can't handle the fact we haven't done any business yet. It hasn't happened previous years and we won't dramatically announce loads of stuff we've been holding back this year either.

If anyone signs or extends it'll be announced when it happens, just like the raft of extensions that were signed during last season.

Except we clearly announced contract extensions strategically.

I can handle not signing people, cheers, just that I also have an awareness of how comms work in big business

And how often have we unveiled a new signing at the kit launch? What is there to gain from having a contract extension announced alongside launching the new kit? You think that it's gonna attract new fans?

I'm not referring solely to you, I keep reading posts that allude to us holding stuff back for the kit launch when in reality there is no basis for it at all, it's mainly wishful thinking I suspect.

I think I see where our wires may be crossed. This isn't about the kit for me. I agree with your point about us rarely or never using kit launch to unveil a new player.

I'm just thinking about a Nike branding decision. I may be wrong (and this is way off topic) but I think this Nike deal will really launch us globally.certainly coupled with our form and style.

Players will obviously be announced in time for first day training. Contracts however is purely a comms issue. When does pre-season training start?

yeah but both Southampton and Bayern have shown you don't have to sell and can pressure the big guys over tapping up. Would love to see Levy take a leaf out of Bayern's book.
