speaking to one of the coaches about him a while back 'he described him as uncoachable' I ;watched him a bit and to say he lacked football intelligence is being polite - capable of amazing finishing but he had no team awareness whatsoever

Coulibaly hasn't done too bad for a one trick pony. He's now banging them in in Egypt for mega bucks. He was like a shitter Obafemi Martins. Tiny, Pace to burn and a cannon of a long shot aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaand that was about it.

Imagine my pain at having to read all the other posts that don't slag Dier off.

It's making me so fucking angry that other people have different opinions and and won't be told not to post them. I nearly chose not to read one the other day.

And i can't believe you brought your anti BC Dier agenda into this thread. How fucking tiresome.

Everyone has the right to an opinion. As long as it agrees with me.

Good to see Richards start a game. I'm a big fan of Griffiths but Richards did quite well with the U16s and doesn't deserve to be a bench warmer for the next 12 months. I'm also quite pleased to see Omolabi involved, he had a worryingly poor 1st year where he never quite showed the composure he'd shown at U16 level. I never thought he was quite as bad as he looked last year. So, fingers crossed he's sorted out whatever was unsettling him.

It's always the issue with the striker situation and probably affected Oteh too, but I agree on the occasions I've seen Richards I've been impressed, he seems to have a really good all round game and understanding of his position. A few weeks ago he came on for Griffiths and changed to game and created chances.

As we lack a winger while Clarke is injured I hope we try Griffiths on the RW a bit where he has also bagged goals and try Richards up front more.

Also agree about Omalabi. At u16s he looked decent, more than capable footballer. Could be because he was surrounded by quality but he did look really average last year, so glad he is looking better, but even still I don't really see where his future lies atm. We have so many CBs and CMs

Onomah was already bossing U18s football as an U16. Winks didn't have the same pizzazz but he had a really good game intelligence from a young age. TOB is sort of an amalgamation between Onomah and Winks. Paris Maghoma is tidy without really standing out like the above three. He does have his moments of influence and he's not inconsistent like Duncan who can be a beast one minute and completely inept the next. Maghoma's problem is probably just that he's been in amongst some extremely talented central midfielders in his time with us and possibly hasn't had the same room to impose himself. With Kriby gone, TOB and Skipp having been moved up he might get the space and time he needs to burst out.

Ye I'd agree with this. As you've implied it's hard to judge Maghoma compared to others as he hasn't featured in comparable environments. Not only was Onomah the best in his age group he was the best in 2 arguably 3 age groups above. Maghoma was completely blocked from getting into the age group above, to show what he could do, and also has internationals in his own age group that make it harder for him to standout. The best judge will be how he plays in the u18s this season and we can really see how he compares to when Onomah played for the u18s.

Maghoma has always looked good and very silky to me, and a positive for him, is he is basically a nailed on started for quite a strong England age group. Hopefully will see him more in the next couple of weeks though

Really looking forward to U17 World Cup.Had a few quid on us at 9/1.Anyone informed on a good pick for top scorer.Any real world superstar strikers in the other teams?whos the kid Real Madrid bought for silly money,is he playing?

Vinicius junior £46m lol will be playing

Could be worth putting money on Brewster, as he will be getting fed by some quality players, and generally does well for Liverpool.

Otherwise looking at Arp and Gouiri who both scored a lot of France and Germany in the Euros, those sides will create chances too, so unless they don't go worth looking at them.

Shame Vinicius Junior isn't going would love to have seen him against our boys, and have some of our boys show him up. This age group have beaten Brazil a couple of times already I think, so will keep the rivalry going if they meet.

Also bit of bad news, it appears Sancho is still with Dortmund, hopefully they release him as there are some very good sides going and would love everyone to have their strongest 11. If he doesn't go, it seems as though Colombia haven't called up Poveda, so if he is still eligible for us I'd go him, Richard or Barlow. I'd prefer Richards to Smith-Rowe even.

Good stuff. And if the numbers suggest starting 11, the one I was looking out for was whether CHO or Brewster would get 9 shirt. The one that has ended up surprising me, though understandable, is McEachran getting the 4. I assumed TOB would be 4 and Kirby 8, but fair play to McEachran, if they start him, it's not a harsh decision and he earned it after Euros.

I was trying to figure out a way to get our best attacking talents in our attacking 4, and it would have included CHO as the striker instead of Brewster, but my concerns is that CHO has been doing so well off the left, I don't event think he plays 9 anymore, though I don't doubt he still has the ability too. Instead they've gone for a more regular 9 in Brewster and put one of our best attacking talents on the bench.

as you alluded to above, sancho's on the bench for dortmund today so it appears that he won't be going. disappointing for england if so but i guess it removes a selection headache.

Onomah benched yet again. Fourth straight game. He was supposed to go there to play :/

Edit: I believe Villa won all those matches to. Not gonna be easy to get back in their starting lineup if they keep winning.

who ever thought sending him to villa was a good idea should be ashamed of themselves. look at the midfielders they have, Whealan, Hourihane, jedinak and the like, their squad is clearly not capable of playing to Onomah's strengths and style. That's why villa looked terrible, when Onomah was getting games and to josh's credit he was still playing extremely well and he has the individual goals to show.
I dont know if the club wanted him learn to adapt his game to the conditions of the games he's playing and surroundings, but i think its a poor lesson to teach. And now with Sissoko getting games in centermidfield in a role that would suit Josh to a tee, just makes the situation more unsavourably.

Possibly he was sent there purely to test whether he could handle a central midfield role at senior level, playing alongside and up against very physical players. Well, he's proved that he can do that, so maybe he'll come back in January and get given a chance with us?

personally feel there were are a lot better options to find this out, espeacially as he's been shifted to the bench

he hasn't been able to prove that though as he's only been played there a handful of times, now he's basically back to what he's been doing for the past couple of seasons but on a more regular basis. i get that he has weaknesses as a cm but what 20 year old doesn't, at least he has a lot of strengths there though unlike further forward where he's always been so clearly out of his comfort zone. he doesn't help himself either as his work-rate seems to plummet to the same degree as his ability when he plays higher up. one day a manager will stick with him at cm and they'll see a proper player but it doesn't look like that's going to happen under bruce.
