They probably could introduce bans for swearing, but 3 a side football wouldn't be much of a spectacle. I think that boat has sailed long ago. Rude gestures are different though. If you let Alli get away with flipping the finger, do you let the next player get away with a 'wanker' gesture? I don't think so. Hopefully it will be nipped in the bud and Alli will get the message that there are cameras everywhere and he needs to wise up a bit sharpish.

Media definitely starting to dig him out.Every article I read contains -poor form, slow start etc.Eyes be on him today.Wonder if his England place will be under threat ,if whoever comes in has a blinder.

absolutely not. Southgate does everything he can to play all the Tottenham players..... for the whole game

I think much of his current criticism is unfair. Having been watching him over the last few games if anything he looks to be lacking confidence.

I can certainly see that his decision making on the ball has suffered and thus his goals and assists have dropped accordingly. But at the same time he's still doing many things well, his movement and intelligence off the ball is excellent; which creates so much space and opportunity for Kane. And when he's not having to think about it too much his one touch link up play is still there. Yes he does need to cut out the crying for a foul routine.

Overall I bring it back to a confidence issue and think he needs an arm around him rather than a kick up the arse. None of this surprising the way the media like to hound young english players at the slightest drop of form (which some of our own fans are guilty of too)

It's also a part of the learning curve, no player goes without slumps, especially when they're still learning the game and developing. Nothing about his game right now feels particularly problematic, a little confidence and better decision making and Dele will be even better than he was before.

Did any of these get banned?
I am going to assume the Wilshere one was aimed at a wheelchair bound ex WW2 war hero pensioner, so is clearly far worse than the others.

But when is an England game ever not on live TV?

Yes, but he was still unlucky that they had the camera on him at that precise moment. Or maybe the producer switched to him really quickly when he did it. It's the kind of thing that often goes unnoticed during a game.

He needs to cut the diving out of his game as well.

To be fair the majority of those incidents were in the Premier league and wouldn't be looked at by FIFA. The Beckham one was seventeen years ago and was aimed at fans giving him abuse rather than the ref.

There is a more recent example of FIFA banning a player for swearing while on International duty though....

Messi's ban was removed on appeal, but only after he'd missed the first game of the ban.

He wasn't up to his usual standard yesterday but ... he's 21, he scored 20+ league goals from midfield, has outscored Lampard / Gerrard / Scholes combined at the same age, and will get better. Of course he'll go through patches of bad form. He also has that 'edge' that Gerrard and Rooney had and will get suspensions and do the odd daft thing.

His game is all about goals. Ghosting into the box and finishing. And he's damn good at it. So glad he's ours!

I can understand why he is getting frustrated as he seems to be getting fouled all game and no protection from the referees. Hopefully this will be part of what helps him grow into a better player.

He was good but we got spoiled last season and you expect a goal/assist from him every game. Will become a much better player when he starts to play a more simple game at times. His movemenent without the ball is still world class though, shame he didn't receive a pass at few occasions yesterday.

I do wonder how somebody like alli would react to being left out of the starting 11?
There are some games where id actually prefer son. And what about when lamela is back? Lamela and eriksen feeding kane would be insane.

His body language isn't great at the moment.
It may just be me but it looked like he had the hump with Kane from the first whistle yesterday.
There was a lot of throwing arms in the air when not getting the ball and I'm not sure Alli even went to Kane after his second whereas he virtually dry humped Davies.
He can behave like a spoilt brat at times, I can see him benched soon, he was at this stage last season and that worked out ok

He may not be scoring right now but its still early in the season, give it time he will be banging them in again. He played well yesterday broke up play and got us going forward again and linked play well, Id have him start over Son all day.

I think he'd be so much harder to play against if he tried to stay on his feet rather than trying to buy cheap free kicks at the slightest touch. He's got the physical size and strength to do it but has got into the habit of looking for opportunities to go to ground. One of the things that makes Messi such a great player is that he often keeps going when he could easily buy a free kick, and more often than not brushes off a few challenges and sticks the ball in the net.

Thought he played well in the first half but like rest of team dropped off in the second. He can be frustrating when he constantly tries flicks and nutmegs but it takes a brave player to not always go for the safe option. His decision making will improve as he gets more experience

I do wonder if Dele may end up being our first Fergie v Keane/Beckham/Stam moment we encounter, ie having to move on a real superstar for the good of the team?

Not that I think that would be anytime soon but I could see it happening at some point.
