Think Levy has promised him the ambassador gig after Ledley moves on

Hard not to hang about for that

Kane is not the patron saint of tottenham. If he feels there is a better deal elsewhere he will leave.

Off the top of my head blanchflower and king are the only greats that didn't leave us.

Don't see why he wouldn't give us another 3-4 years at least and if we don't make the progress he wants then he makes a move at 27-28

Premature right now to have this discussion and Jamie's rednapp, Phil Neville and other bozos with no links or affinity to the club getting to much airtime keeping this non discussion going

What I hate most about this 'will he stay or will he go' talk is that alot of people treat Kane like he's a typical footballer, eg only as loyal as the paycheck or the ambition of his club. But he's not a typical footballer, he's a genuine boyhood Spurs fan, playing for the club he loves when it's on the cusp of great things and with a brand spanking new stadium in the pipeline. I think if this was the Spurs team circa 07-10, talk of him giving us 3-4 years might feel realistic - but we're not that team.

Everything about the club right now is about competing for titles and cups, Kane wouldn't abandon us for a 'better chance' or a bigger paycheck because he's not that sort of person. He's a yiddo through and through, it'd take a collapse of epic proportions for him to be swayed into leaving and there's no evidence a collapse will happen anytime soon.

Why is it inevitable? I can't see him leaving the PL as he can break Shearer's record and there's no way we'd sell him to a direct rival.

Because there's far more historical evidence that he will than he won't. Everyone leaves eventually. In my entire lifetime, not a single great player has seen out their career at Spurs.

Admittedly, this is pretty much the best we've been, but others around him will leave - including Poch, which could change everything. In fact it's a huge assumption that we'll stay top 4 for next decade. One season out of Europe is all it could take. Just being realistic.

Huge leap of faith to think he'll stay for next 10 years. That's great and bully for you but I'm tired of having to explain why he might leave - let's not pretend it isn't the most obvious result

I obviously hope he stays. But Shearer is held up as a poster boy for not winning as much as he should have. To emulate him is a double edged sword, to be honest, and Kane will break tonnes of records whatever he does.

The loyalty hand is overplayed for me, too many people who don't know him making assumptions about his personality and ambition. I'd question his drive if he didn't leave for titles eventually if we can't provide the platform. And we all know it's hard to question his drive

Won't be leaving anytime soon.

Could you imagine the fee Levy would quote.

Don't ever see us selling him to anyone in the Premier league.

All depends on Levy's ambition once we're in the new stadium.

Gates and marketing have all been the excuses in the past for not being able to compete financially and now it's all coming to fruition.

Time for our glorious leader to back-up his promises.

Fairly sure he was quoted as saying as long as we were always moving forward and challenging he would not need to leave.

Who would he go to then?

I'm not bothered if he stays or goes, because I believe it's a win-win situation for us either way.

If he stays we've got a true legend of the game playing for us. If he leaves it'll be for such an eye-watering amount of money, we'll be able to buy a very good replacement and also 4 or 5 brilliant young prospects. In the past we've lost the likes of Carrick, Berbatov, Modric, Bale and although we've had our ups and downs, overall we've grown stronger as a club to the point where we are fighting for the title.

I really want him to stay though. It is disappointing that the talk is more about will he/won't he stay, rather than how Tottenham have brought through academy players and have a net spend, over 3/4 seasons, of £20m.

I think if we still haven’t won anything by the time he’s 27 he will be off to get that done.

.

We'll not be spending a big fee on a ready made replacement. A £100m player will demand £100m players wages.
Thats where we and Everton would/did struggle.

It's sad that so many spurs fans are already resigned to the fact he'll leave.

It's not based on any history or fact. Yes we've sold players but rarely if ever are they spurs fans and rarely are they as good as him and rarely are we as good as we are.
Put all those together....

Don't think we're resigned to the fact he'll leave. Just that we realise there is a possibility he may leave in the future unless we a) start winning major trophies and b) increase our wage structure to match the biggest clubs. So far we have done neither.

We all know what it takes for Harry to stay All his career.....
Is that likely.....not really, we have certainly got him for the next 3 years imo.....after that is where we are as a club regarding trophies etc....the money is not the be end i suspect for Harry though i would expect Levy to look after him and not take the piss jbecause of his love for us.
We all trust Harry to give us plenty of time.....but if we dont deliver Harry would go eventually.....hopefully he won't have to .

It's quite concerning to see the amount of Yes responses, thought it would be one way traffic.

Blimey, if you can't hope a guy who supported your club as a boy and came up through the ranks (despite that awful red spell) will see out his best years at the club then God help you if you cuff a fit bird!

Saddening to see the impact obscene money and plastic clubs has had on the Premier League era; building a generation of cynics.

The earliest would be 19/20.But the question is where would he go,I think his options are very limited. Here it's City or united. If pep is still at city ,I don't see it,not his type of player.Has pep ever bought a big No 9 in his life? Then united have just bought Lukaku who will be there at least 4 years. So that rules England more or less. Then Barca and Real.Just can't see Barca happening.Madrid would be a matter of timing. Most likely they will buy next summer. But Kane will never leave before stadium.Even if he wanted to Levy would never sell. Then you have psg who have just bought mpabbe and Neymar, and would he really want to play in France.I really think it's Real Madrid or nowhere and that will all depend on timing. My gut tells me even if we win nothing in 2 years,as long as we are still competitive and it's possible he will stay.
