Hate this shit, best striker in Europe, love it. Real Madrid worry me because Benzema is half the player Kane is. Enjoy the ride.

Tbf that's England's main problem - we don't produce intelligent number 10 Eriksen/DeBruyne types. Who are creative, technically excellent and can dictate play. We'll struggle whoever is in charge if we never produce these kind of players
Not top drawer but always liked Lallana and always thought he should be in there. He's the closest thing we've got to that number 10.

We are more likely to keep the group of guys the better he gets. With him showing that he is the best striker in Europe, our guys will not want to leave just to have a lesser product on their (next) team. Levy is about to get out the checkbook for everyone, so if Kane stays (which if he is paid properly, why wouldn't he), everyone else (maybe Alli excepted), will want to stay as well. From all the other players' perspective, why go play with a 2nd tier striker when you can play with the best? Kane is Spurs ultimate asset and Levy will break the bank for him.

This is a good perspective and not one I've quite seen before. Makes sense but my only dilemma is that we could buy Messi etc, but the problem with this group is that they are stained by our mediocre past few decades of underachievement. We really need a trophy, big or small to cement not only our place amongst the elite, but to also give confidence to our squad that we are much more than a romantic, highly talented, but underachieving squad.

While I agree that we need to win something, I completely disagree that we are somehow stained by some past mediocrity. We have been the best Premier League team the last two years. We have the best two way team in England and are now putting that on display. Those players that think there some sort of stain from Tottenham's past are headed toward the exits, but those that recognize that we have one of (if not the) best team in England, are going to stick around. Man U had 2 trophies last year but we had the better season. Man City did nada in terms of trophies and we finished ahead of them. Chelsea is going to lose their manager and Arsenal are about to implode when Sanchez leaves. Where are our guys going? When we go to the Bernabeu, we'll see how good we are (I have a feeling that we will acquit ourselves well, if not win the match outright).

I can see kane showing off his medal for best team of 2015-17.

We need trophies. Players want to look back at their careers and show what trophies they have won.

You're under-rating the pressure on trophy IMO

"I think Dzeko is a better player"

Says it all really.
Perception.

Berbatov for a local example... so classy, such skill. Which one would you rather have? Berbs in his prime or Kane? I mean, logically you say Kane, but nostalgia can do funny things, I still so miss Berbatov.

It's the same with whole Ronaldo and Messi comparisons that are starting up. Most in world football (fan wise), say no frigging way. Kane isn't classy and he doesn't (currently) win trophies. He isn't top draw because he isn't having it served up for him by a golden spoon of a club. We are excellent, but we are not Real Madrid or Barcelona.

All three of those players I would say are/were, silkier players. Skills, arrogance, touch... They do make the football part look sexy at times. Something I will be the first to agree Kane does not.

But **** me sideways if Kane is nothing but absolute ruthlessness and work ethic wrapped up in a bundle of goal scoring joy. He scares opponents, he has built up an aura whereby teams are afraid. There was a lot of boo hoo about Pep saying the Harry Kane team. Frankly, do we not say the Ronaldo team? The Messi team? The Sturri, err Hende, no wait, whatever...

My point being, Harry Kane is fast turning into a talisman within football a a whole. Everyone here in Germany talk about him and alas, they all say he will move. Why? Because top players move to the biggest clubs. I.e. here everyone moves to Real or Bayern and to them Tottenham are like a Dortmund type club, youthful, progressive, exciting, but ultimately, second fiddle to the perceived giant.

That will stay until we win regular trophies.

Now that does not mean Kane gives two hoots, but get used to the media and the opposition fans spouting crap, because it's what everyone everywhere does. Welcome to the farce that is football.

Kane with Dele, Winks, Dier with him in the England team is a must. Even if they aren't "the best" in their position they are the best for Kane.

Surely Southgate must realise this.

Hey guys, who wants to contract aids, read this:

http://forums.bluemoon-mcfc.co.uk/threads/harry-kane.330300/

I like how the reasons for not rating Harry Kane are becoming so contrived that coming up with them is becoming a feat in itself.

Opponent's fan: Kane is just a one season wonder.
*Kane wins golden boot in second full season*
Opponent's fan: Ok fine, but he can't do it against the big teams.
*Kane scores against all the big teams*
Opponent's fan: Ok fine, sure, but now everyone knows about him he's going to get found out pretty soon.
*Kane wins second successive golden boot*
Opponent's fan: Alright, I admit he's ok, but he can't do it for England.
*Kane scores 1-in-two for England over 20 games*
Opponent's fan: Whatever, you can't call him world class until he does it in the champions league.
*Kane scores two goals against Dortmund*

*opponent's fan looks stumped for a moment*
*opponent's fan sinks into deep concentration for about three minutes before suddenly sitting up*
Opponent's fan: I've got it! Harry Kane is rubbish because, even though he scores lots of goals, and even though he scores against all the best teams...he never scores when...wait for it...he never scores when the other team is playing better than Spurs and Spurs are being constantly pushed back into their own half. THAT, my friend, is the only measure of a good player!
Spurs fan: What about the Dortmund game?
Opponent's fan: Fuck's sake.
