UFC seems all a bit dull at the moment. Ever since the Jones vs Cormier rematch it seems to have gone queite. I can't even say I was excited about the Might Mouse fight either. There's not nearly enough competition for him, he needs to move up to bantamweight.

Looking forward to GSP vs Bisping though.

Christ almighty, some people talk utter shit.
Bloke at work is bragging that he's an MMA trainer, who boasts an unbeaten professional MMA record.
He claims he trains people, yet someone just asked how often.
The reply - "Not in the last 2/3 years".

Now he's claiming that he opted not to go to UFC when it started to become big, "unlike some of the other Brits that I've smashed, like Dan Hardy".

Absolutely full of shit...

Mighty Mouse is the GOAT but he should move up a weight class now. His current weight class just cant fight with him anymore. They've got nothing for him.

But that finish though!!!!!!!!!!! Just incredible. Amazing finish!

Oh I've had something similar a few years back, walked into toilet at work to a renowned bullshittet nursing a nosebleed. Asked him if he was Ok "Yeah fine, just with all my pro Muay Thai fights I get a lot of nosebleeds".........having done Muay Thai for a lot of years, his face when I started asking questions was priceless. And he totally shit it when I said we could do an exhibition match for charity

Great win by Ferguson there is nowhere for Conor to run now. He will hsve to knock Ferguson out to win that fight.

Best set up for arm bar ever!

Since when has Conor ever ran? He's one of the most ambitious fighters going. He didn't stay in one weight class for too long, fought a guy 2 weight classes above him twice, fought the greatest boxer of all time in his first ever pro boxing fight. He'll have no trouble fighting Ferguson but it's more about whether a bigger fight presents itself.

Mayweather isn't the best boxer of all time and the old, past it version Connor was outclassed by wasn't even the best boxer at that weight when it took place. It was a glorified spar where Floyd was barely in fighting shape and carried him. Let's not pretend it was anything else than a huge money making excercise for all involved! Also, I'm not sure Diaz was ever two weight classes above him, didn't they both move up a division to 170 in their first fight? McGregor used to boil down and fight guys much smaller.

McGregor takes the most lucrative route each time, he's all about the dough, he makes no bones about that either

That Mighty Mouse chap...what a finish! Like something off a fucking computer game!

That's the point though. He challenges himself against the best opponent possible. I have a lot of respect for DJ and what he has done but would love to see him challenge himself a bit more. He cleaned that division out a long time ago so why not challenge the bantamweights instead? Just as Conor challenged the lightweight champion. Why not challenge Cruz and try and recover that loss on his record? Again Conor wanted a rematch with Diaz at the same weight class to get back that loss.

That's what I respect about Conor. He's not the best all round fighter but he puts himself against the best. It's what I love about Bisping too. I just found it laughable for someone to suggest Conor can't run when he never does anyway. Aldo was a much more dangerous fight for him than Ferguson would be. As was Mayweather in his own world (Despite his age it was still a massive challenge against all the odds and Floyd trained like crazy for that fight). Sure Conor chases the big money fight but the big money fight is also the biggest and toughest fight.

Conor has never run. But Ferguson wo t be his next fight(also, what a terrible call out). McGregor/Diaz III will likely be Conor's next flight and I am so here for it.

Did I miss something here...?

Last I heard (and saw) was Jones smashing Cormier up in their long awaited rematch a few months ago and I thought that was that.

Next thing I see, is Cormier being introduced on the last PPV as 'Light Heavyweight Champion Daniel Cormiere'

WTF happened? Please don't tell me JBJ screwed up his life again somehow and has had the belt taken from him yet again...:wtf:

Fuck me, is this bloke for real?

He's an awesome fighter, anyone can see that, but why does he consistently screw his career up every time they give him another chance to come back? It really baffles me.

Cormier is a lovely guy (as he comes across out of the octagon) but his fighting style frustrates me. He's a fat tub of lard and just lays on his opponent either on the ground or up against the cage.

I dont know why the DC gets so much hate. He isn't one of the boring lay and pray wrestlers. He always stays active either trying to advance his position or landing ground and pound. He just isn't fancy. He's hardly a fat tub of lard.

It's obvious that Connor doesn't want to fight him, he is a nightmare for him. He took the first fight with Diaz because he thought he was a bum and that he would win easily, second time he just used his brain, he probably looked at how easily RDA beat Diaz. As for the Mayweather fight, I'd fight Mayweather too for that kind of money, even though I know I would lose easily. Ferguson is the best and most active contender in the light weight division, there is no other fight to make, it's champion versus champion.
If connor is going to fight someone else, then there was no point in having an interim title match.

See I think the complete opposite. Ferguson is the perfect opponent for Conor. I think you're overestimating him to be honest. His stand up is nowhere near Conor level. Even in this fight he was far too open for strikes. Conor would pick him apart on the feet. He may weather the storm and take it to the late rounds like Diaz did but Conor would still win a decision.

His best hope is to take Conor down but he doesn't have a driving takedown like Mendes and he's unlikely to be taken down so he can work off his back. So I can only see it going the way of the Diaz fight. Ferguson would try make it a war but Conor would use his movement to stay out of trouble and pick him apart with technique on the feet.

OK, maybe my description of DC's fighting style wasn't too flattering and I'm happy to withdraw it. As I said, he seems to be a really lovely guy whenever he's commentating or is being interviewed, but I just don't like he way he fights and although I do fully appreciate the skills involved in BJJ, I'm not a great fan of that particular discipline either. I'd much rather watch a standing fight, and for me, JJ at Light Heavyweight is the best and most dominant of all time. That's why I got so angry with him for screwing things up yet again.

I love a good stand up fight and for sure my favourite fighters are the ones who go toe to toe. It does annoy me when some of the fans boo as soon as a fight goes to ground though. I don't know if its more the newer MMA fans but they don't seem to understand what mixed martial arts is. Its fair enough if a fighter just holds down an opponent. I just don't think Cormier is one of those guys but I agree he's not the most exciting.

I'm looking forward to the Bisping GSP fight. Hopefully we see a less safe side of GSP now that he is the challenger because he can be a bit boring.

I'm looking forward to this fight very much too but I wonder if GSP hasn't been out of the Octagon just a little too long. I think at his peak he would have annihilated Bisping but perhaps this particular come-back isn't the best idea for him. I don't agree GSP could be 'a bit boring' but then we all have our opinions. I think his ground and pound game was pretty awesome to be honest but that was then, this is now.
