Oh, great philosophy you are adapting. I guess you are one of those tho thinks we shouldn't complain about drawing vs. Swansea because there are other clubs who loses way down the conference league.

Every professional player who reaches the levels Dele can reach arrives there because they are perfectionists who knows nothing else but to constantly improve. No player at this level has ever reached their absolute best by saying "oh, but Barton is angrier me and by the way, did you see my goal tally last year?".

Supporting a player isn't the same as only talking about what he does correctly. It isn't support to say "great job man, you scored back in August, so nothing but praise for you". It is support to say, "you know what, you've got some improvement to work on and I fully believe you can do it".

And finally, every person, footballer or otherwise, has their own life story, good or bad. But on the pitch, they are all the same. You wouldn't say "Player X should do better because his mama loves him but player Y is excused because he hates his dad". They are all fortunate, lucky kids who are awarded very well doing their hobby as a full-time job, and with that, there comes responsibilities. Such as learning when to not get a stupid red card and how to reduce the number of times a big chance is wasted due to banal mistakes.

Has Alli been sent off this season?

Upbringing has a lot to to with ones personality- Alli doesn't come across as being a violent person he's pretty will spoken just a bit silly at times on the pitch I put down to immaturity and I'm not meaning to paint him as anything but a decent young man.

For the record I did complain about the Swansea draw, thought Kane hitting the cross bar was a banal mistake but thats football.

Well there's your mistake, you have treated Twitter posters like they are real people sharing an opinion rather than just people looking for a reaction.

There aren't posts in here because the hyperbolic bs gets pulled up very quickly.

The reason I come here is because there is a level of rationality that is not present on Twitter or the loudmouth twat at the game or the pub.

So yeah not really interested in their attention seeking views and don't see how it is relevant on the SC forum.

I don't use Twitter so I'm not sure where you got that from?

Twitter is a form of social media, probably the most used social media.

The only extreme views in this thread are those of the group that I can only refer to as the DeleGestapo, who reaches full alert mode in a split second and attacks any post of even faint criticism as if one is undermining the entire existence of Tottenham Hotspur as a club by not being incredibly impressed with Dele this season. I suppose this thread is better left alone to ensure the ultimate victory of the censorship of the DeleGestapo and an uttermost conform thred, and so they can fight among themselves about being the most pure and vivid defender of the flawlessness of Dele. Until of course Pochettino, who never can say anything wrong, comments that Dele must strengthen to keep his place in the team.

Twitter isn't the only form of social media fella, you know that right?
Yes but you said social media. Not really reasonable to expect me to know what social media you use and what you don't.

Which is why I don't really give a shit about discussing posts that aren't on SC.

You shouldn't assume, people tend to get things wrong when they assume, pretty reasonable to expect you to think of any other form of SM other than Twitter (check the links)

Okay that's great, you don't like to discuss opinions that aren't on SC but I do so...

I can't believe any Spurs fans are stupid enough to suggest selling Dele would be a good idea just because of his so-called 'current form'.

I saw a bunch of comments on twitter that had been posted up somewhere (even though I have a twitter account I rarely use as think it just brings the worst out in a lot of people) where some thick twats were like yeah sell on his current form etc.

He scored 18 league goals and 22 in total last season and is still 21 ffs; some fans are so fickle it's actually kinda revolting and they'd soon be whining on twatter if a player showed us such a lack of loyalty and left.

Dele started last season off slowly too (as did Eriksen) and then look what happened when they clicked into gear.

Eriksen also now has finally found a really good level of consistency but took him a couple of seasons to really find his feet and stop blowing hot and cold.

Dele will be a 20 league goals a season midfielder as he develops further.

So you want me to discuss posts I haven't read by people I don't know? Bit unlikely.

You can do whatever you wish, there's no rules on how to interact in this thread so I'm not really bothered what you do, you're the one who replied to me and took it personally and I'm giving you reasoning as to what my initial post was about.

Not taking anything personally, just having a discussion.

Believe it or not I was simply trying to engage you in a debate.

No problem we're talking about two different things so there's no need for opposing views, our posts weren't aimed at each other so it's cool.

I think you're kind of missing the point. What were Son's stats at 21?

Yes, but pe
Other than OPModric who is suggesting we don't want him?

Alli has great talents and flaws. As geeks discussing our player on the internet we are going to discuss every angle of the player.

Doesn't mean we don't want him.

I haven´t said I don´t want him, but I think he is overrated. He has one great skill and that is his movement. That will never be enough for Barcelona or Real Madrid.

Compared to the LamelaGestapo, the so called DeleGestapo are teddy bears.

He's not actually playing that much differently from last season but just without the goals (although the sample size is small). If I had the time to look back through this thread I suspect I would read the same criticisms from people at stages of last season.

Im all for criticising players if they aren't trying but really, his performances haven't been that much different, it just seems some fans have become a bit spoilt.

I mean, who wouldn't bet on him lashing one in from 25 yards on Saturday out of nothing. I certainly wouldn't. He's fully capable.

When you say his overrated who are you comparing him to?

Ultimately, this discussion isn't about Kane, the anger of Joey Barton, the price tag of Dele in 2014 or 100 things in football that's worse than Dele, nor is it a competition for the title of the most sanctimonious fan. It's about Dele not playing to his full potential so far this season, and it's OK to say that without being met with blind and naive wrath.

Just as its okay to point out when criticism of Dele (or anyone for that matter) is over the top and unwarranted without being met with sanctimonious accusations of blind loyalty.

Some people were saying last season "if the goals dried up it would be interesting to see the reaction to Dele's performances", I guess we're seeing a small sample of that now...

I'm about to miss your point completely. I've winnered your post because I agree with you. But tbf to Son he got 12 league goals in the Bundesliga in his equivalent year to Dele's last year. Was highly thought of at that stage of his career.
