Maybe it was more a fan assessment but someone was saying that his weakness was probably on the ball, but there he was having a whale of a time out there tonight

Probably his best performance for us tonight and what a time to do it! Couple of iffy clearances/first touches in the first half where I think he should've put his foot through it, then he showed me up in the second with great control, breaks out of defence and a good range of passing. He jockeys his man so well - I've rarely seen him foul when he's been stood up. Great prospect for us.

Absolute monster of a player, so calm when defending, with his strength and pace he will take a lot of beating to get past. All this at his age, he is younger than both Winks & Alli, let that sink in for a while! Can't think of a better defender in world football at his age. Fully justifying his price tag.

Another stupid thing I've heard people say about Sanchez... " He can't play in a back 4" wouldn't trust him in that system blah blah blah

He's an absolute machine and he simply doesn't give a fuck who he's up against. He'll happily go shoulder-to-shoulder with Ronaldo/Messi/Neymar and launch them 30 yards away.

Great signing. We have an amazing team now and yesterday was without Rose (for the 90), Davies, Dembele, Wanyama, Lamela, Dele, Son (for the most part). Can't believe our luck for bringing through Kane and Winks through the academy.

Absolutely nuts to be producing performances like he is at 21 as a defender, imagine what he could be like in 5 years

Strange thing to say (not that I've heard anyone say that) seeing as he played in a back 4 for Ajax and plays there for Columbia.

Sterling performance from the lad, he is definitely a major talent in the making

Classy performance! This signing reminds me of the Wanyama signing. At the time we thought it was unnecessary and then almost immediately you see his value. Calmly gets on and does a good job without doing anything to noticeable. The pace to catch Ronaldo when he was running past was explosive.

Thought it'd be tough to slot into our backline....

Looks like he's been there all his life.
Yeah it's impressive.

But not entirely surprising. The lad has played in;

The Copa Libertadores final (Winner)
Europa Cup Final (Loser)
World Cup Qualifiers (Qualified)

So he has had some very valuable experience at such a young age, which only highlights how good he is for someone so young. Once we knew we were seriously interested in signing him I became more and more nervous about getting it over the line because this lad can really go on to be the world's best in his position.

I remember when we were first linked with him, he was right up our street and someone posted a link / review from an Ajax fan stating he will go on to be the best defender in the world and I thought at the time, "mmm a bit fanciful" but having watched him live 4-5 times now I honestly think this is the best signing of the summer by all PL clubs. He never looks in trouble. Best defensive minded player at the club since Ledley and Richard Gough. With Toby we currently have the two best four defenders been at the club in the past 35 years.
