Seems like such a good guy too

He was out the door after Sherwood and Poch convinced him

Now they seem to have the biggest bromance

He might make the odd error, like v Chelsea. For every error he makes he wins us probably an extra 15 to 20 points a season.

He had absolutely no right to save that Benzema header. But he did. And if you look, it actually appears that he realises he's gone the wrong way and swings his left foot towards the ball. Of course there was luck involved but to say it was all luck shows a basic lack of understanding of football. Much like Steve McManaman highlighting more that it was a miss then a save.

When your goalkeeper is your best player or even MOTM, that usually implies that things are going badly and you're getting dominated. That's not been the case with us but Hugo has now in three successive games pulled absolutely world class saves out of the bag at absolutely crucial moments to win us points. I thought his performance at the Bernabeu was impressive enough, but the save from Coutinho today was one of the best I've ever witnessed. From my seat in the ground I was convinced that was going in when he struck it, only for Hugo appear out of nowhere with a diving strong hand.

Genuinely world class.

It's amazing because he had literally no run up, just launched in the air off the spot

I know this is a Lloris thread - but watching that replay and seeing Sanchez immediately turn to beat Firmino to clear the rebound if Lloris had not gathered it in was

Its the small things that separate the good from the great. Sanchez is on his way to great.
