It turns out it's difficult to beat the best teams in the league at the hardest places to play them, it's a good job the season is played over 38 games and not 4.

It's a complete fallacy you need to win those games to win the league. A proper nonsense. Look at Liverpool last year, they got excellent results against the top 6 and were nowhere by the end of season.

You need a certain amount of points to win the league. Where you get them from doesn't matter.

Also drawing away from home against our competitors. That's a good result. That's dropped points for them. So just counting wins doesn't even tell the full story of a non story.

That man united team lost away at Huddersfield last week. That's why we'll finish ahead of them.
Finish above Liverpool yes above Utd no their manager is too good and experienced to not let that happen.

I don't think we desperately need to win such games. Just don't lose them

Point today would have been fine. Jose knows all about it

We had a better starting 11 and they still manage to keep us to one or two chances in the whole match. It's fucking annoying going to these teams and basically just giving it to them. City last season we were lucky, liverpool we could have lost by 3 or 4. United we never even play, basically just sit there and watch them put one in. Chelsea away is just putrid. Arsenal we've been drawing a lot recently but have only managed one win in countless years. When you look at the record we truly have been dreadful at these grounds and it doesn't look like that will change, even when we have a better team.

This is not knee jerk...! Is that four years on the trot with no goals at least of Trafford .

When was our last win at a top 4 stadium ? Why aren't we getting wins at these grounds , what are we doing wrong ?
We aren’t good enough still. Need 2 more top top players.

Our cycle of losing games at these grounds Is so ingrained that NO matter what team or manager it just continues from one year or decade to the next.
No one expects to win every game away to the top sides but fuck me we just don't win any and imo until we do we can't be considered a top side.

Of course it doesn’t guarantee you winning the league, but we are talking about a sustained period of failure in away games against the top teams.

That suggests a trend and there is a reason why ( beyond the obvious that they are the hardest games to win).

We are too timid, lack belief and often fail to seize the moment in crucial games.

It’s annoying we always seem to lose these games by the odd goal.Arsenal and Liverpool get regularly tonked in these games.Cant remember last time we took a real beating.

What is the rest of the top 6's record away to the top 6? For context.

Yes can't think of anything more annoying than losing by the odd goal in a close match as opposed to getting totally spanked and embarrassed in the process.

I'm not bothered about not winning away at a top 6 side. Most of them hardly lose any games at home all season anyway. What pisses me off is dropping points at home to shite teams. Seasons gone by we've lost at home to the likes of Newcastle and countless other weaker sides. That's where titles are won or lost. Not winning at your rivals.

If we'd beaten Burnely and the mighty Swansea at Wembley this season we'd be 4 points better off and 1 point above Utd. Champions don't lose at home to the bottom half teams. We do. Liverpool's record against the top 6 is better than anyone's yet they barely make the top 4 each season.

We stuck at their grounds but alternatively they've barely had a sniff at our grounds in recent years.

The away form at these teams needs to change . We all knew today was going to be a loss and we accept that it's ok because we only lost 1-0
I’d have to disagree, Tuesday I had us down to beat West Ham and win today, then Big Daddy Kane got injured....

def.

And that's the only minor critique I'd make on today's game. Really decent effort to settle into the game and limited Utd to one or two half chances in the first 75.

At this point, I think we could lock it down to make sure we come away with at least a point. Today Winks hit a wall late on, so for me Davidson on. Dier to cdm. And make sure we don't concede. Still happy for Lorente to come on, counter as per usual, just add that extra point to the tally and stop the oppo getting 3 on us.

I'm no Poch of course, but for me there's a point in the game, after so much hard work, where we refocus and take something home. Jose of course does it from minute one which is dreadful, but from the 80th ok by me.
