We have a pacey squad player who can take players on. He’s called Son. The only reason he started was because Kane was injured. Personally I’d have started Llorente but I can understand Poch’s thinking.

I agree in having Son but I believe we need more than that. I think Poch does too which is why we have bought N'jie and N'koudou.

I don't think pace is the be all and end all though.

We’re never gunna have 2 Son level players on our bench, though. Hence why we take punts on Njie and Nkoudou.

Case closed.

I also think that most of the league would look at Kane, Eriksen, Son and Dele and wonder what we are complaining about! :p:D

Aside from Kane, which teams in the "top six" would swap their midfielders for Dele or Eriksen? Which of them would give us one of their Salah, Mane, Courtinho, Sterling Sane, Diaz, Hazard, Bakayoko, Willian?

I am not complaining of the young talent we have, but "most in the league" wouldn't include those players mentioned above teams i think.

Don't agree.

When we have four at the back we often play 3 attacking mids so there is plenty of space for another quality attacking mid.

Ending an opinion with case closed is as pathetic as ending it with fact.

Christ, it’s tongue in cheek but if you really think we’ll go out and spend £50-£60m on an top class attacking mid to sit on our bench you’re deluded. I’d imagine it’s hard enough keeping hold of Son let alone trying to keep two happy.

I get it, people play lots of FIFA and think a player with pace and a step over will solve any problems a side has but give me guile and work rate any day. A fully fit Lamela would be great on our bench

We spent £30m on Sissoko and Poch had no problem putting him on the bench,

Poch has made it very clear that his attitude is he pays players fees and wages to train with the squad.

We are well covered in goal, defence and deeper midfield. The only players not really performing are the back up striker to Kane and the attacking mid backup.

Not deluded to think we'll be spending in this area especially as Poch clearly wants Barkley who will be expensive.

Lol, Sissoko??? Who’s bang average and cost half of what I said.

Yeah, Barkley would be a great addition. Not pacey and not renowned for taking and beating people 1 on 1 but would be a great addition. A bench of Lamela, Barkley and Son would be amazing that not many sides could rival, again, though, wouldn’t close more than £20m let alone £50m plus.

We wanted him in the summer just gone, clearly willing to spend in that area if the deal is achievable.
Poch wants him, as you said, I just disagree with the notion he'll be expensive when he's only got 6 months left.
In fact it makes us even more likely to sign him.

We won't be alone in the quest to sign Barkley. I would expect Chelsea to reignite interest along with Arsenal. City may show interest, just to stop others acquiring him.

Weird that you have decided to completed ignore the point.

Sissoko was our record signing and Poch still had no problem benching him for the whole season. My point is Poch has shown he wants attacking mids and he won't hesitate to spend in areas for improvement even if they're not guaranteed to start.

If we bought Barkely or Zaha I could see them getting similar game time.

Not sure how these posts are relevant to the point I was making.

You posted this 'Poch clearly wants Barkley who will be expensive.'
Which is nonsense...do keep up.

Jesus Christ, I'll explain again.

The poster I was discussing with said we would not spend much on an attacking mid backup as we already have Son not playing regularly.

I pointed out we tried for Barkely in the summer. He would have been an expensive signing. We were also reportedly in for Mahrez, another expensive attacking mid. So the idea we won't spend in this position is untrue based on our actions in the summer.

You bringing up Barkley's contract length is a bit weird as we were trying for him when his price tag was high.

Poch would have no problem benching anyone if he thought it necessary

So your point is, we’re always on the look out for players to improve us, players that arnt necessarily all about pace and trickery. What a revelation perhaps you should become a sports Journo

The Barkley signing is us through and through. Young, English, loads of potential and in the last year so available at a knockdown price.

The fact you've twisted my words to make a pathetic point suggests you already work as a sports journo.

My point is Poch will spend big money even on squad players, something you suggested we wouldn't.

I'm out.

I couldn't care about any of that mate, I brought up his contract length to illustrate the nonsensical bit of your post.
He won't be expensive with 6 months left.

I should have written "would have been expensive", not sure it was a big enough mistake for you to highlight this amount of times as I explained what I meant.
