I went last night,

Went to Cardiff as a huge AJ fan left feeling a bit meh’d by the experience feeling AJ is slightly manufactured

The hype around him, along with the media bias and sky cheerleaders don’t help his image that’s for sure.

Nonsense stoppage last night. I don’t see what the problem is with Joshua simply going 12 and winning at a canter. It’s boxing, not knock out competitions.
The stoppage was almost like they were preserving his knockout ratio

Takam is tough but Joshua ran out of ideas a little. He’s not the most fluid boxer ever, but it’s a weak division and unless Fury gets himself fully fit and on form, there’s not too much to bother him right now.

Just catching up with the fight, the reports weren't wrong Takam did indeed take an awful lot of punishment. That was a terrible stoppage though. It did look like Joshua had found an opening and Takam was in some trouble, but AJ still had to make the most of it and press home that momentum.

Joshua didn't look great, and lacked a few ideas to put him away, but that's his style - he just keeps coming forward and eventually overwhelms his opponents. I doubt he lost a round there, and there would be very few, if anyone, in the division who could absorb the punishment that Takam took without completely opening up at some point and getting sparked.

Just watched the joshua fight, he was easily winning up until the stoppage and yeah I like others don't agree with the stoppage. Takam was taking the punches throughout the fight and it did look like it was heading for a decision.

I hope the ref thought he made the right choice rather than just stepping in to preserve joshua's knockout record.

Seen the fight but poor quality.

Seems Takam's eye was quite bad and the ref probably wanted to protect it. Strange timing or the stoppage.

Think Joshua should try to add a few more dimensions to his attack strategy but no boxer in the heavyweight division will fancy taking him on, other than for financial reasons.

It was a badly timed stoppage, but it was a matter of seconds before Joshua had his lights out.

He was incredibly underwhelming, think complacency plays a huge part in it.

I reckon that Deontay Wilder would give AJ a good tear up. That's the fight I reckon he'll be steering clear of for quite a while, but certainly the fight I want to see.

Eddie Hearn has done a great job convincing people AJ is the next great Heavyweight, and fairplay to him thats his job and he's making shitloads. I'm not convinced at all.

AJ was a stone heavier than he should of been, that makes a big difference, especially in heavyweight boxing, also that clash to the nose probably affected his breathing during the fight, I do hope he fight's Wilder next, and sometime down the line Tyson Fury.

He’s currently the best of the bunch but has plenty of flaws. He came to the sport too late to ever become the next Lennox Lewis.

I like him though. He’s game and his fight with Wlad was a modern classic

If he come see back fit and on form, Fury gives Joshua all kinds of trouble.

The guy isn’t half full of shite sometimes (McGregor)

If he does return it would be nice to see him in with Canelo or Golovkin. Firstly they are actually his size and there’s no way they’d go through the motions and carry him. He’d be unconscious within 3 minutes

Won’t ever happen though. I assume he’s just trying to keep his name out there with such chat

Boxing's been pissing me off for a while now, with the top fighters preferring to keep cashing cheques rather than fight each other. Look at Wilder, barely ever gets off his sofa to fight - i'm pretty sure, if he had a big enough living room, he'd never leave the damn house. Even the best/most promising heavies seem to constantly end up in the ring with duffers who really aren't anywhere near their class, but at least with AJ he's had a few who can test his chin a bit in theory. The fact they rarely have time to land a shot doesn't help much, but time will tell - if he carries on performing like he has and either a unification is on the cards or he gets in with a proper fighter, it would be a huge draw.

I get that no promoter/agent/trainer wants to see their boy risk a loss, but the fans don't care about how much these guys make, they want these fights and, i'm pretty sure, so do the fighters.

Heavyweight scene has been shitty like this for way too long.

Fury is the best of the bunch for me, with Daniel Dubois looking like the future.
