They spent alot of money in the summer, yes. But they also sold a player for like £90m. They just replaced him with 3 #10's(one of whom belongs in the glue factory) and Sandro from Barca who doesnt even play. Missing out on Giroud was a massive loss for them. They need to sell Barkley and make 2 signings in January: a striker and someone to come in off the wings. Siggy could play there but he's a better #10.

I dont think they will go down but if they wait too long to appoint a manager to right the ship, it may prove very costly.

They’ll be fine, they’re like us when Arry took over when we were 2 points after 8 games. They just need organising & someone to remind them how good they are. Fat Sam would sort them out in a heartbeat

Wonder why Sandro hasn't been playing, is he injured?

He'd get them out of the shit but I don't think he'd get them to where the owners want to be. It's a bit of a sticky situation for them. Do they solve the immediate problem or take a punt on longer term ambitions.

They had spells yesterday when you thought, yeah, they're going to get back in this, they're going to make a game of it. Davies was buzzing around, rooney was stroking the ball from side to side, both full backs were pushed up.......but the ball goes into the box, and nothing, absolutely nothing. Just fizzled out. How a top 8 premier league team can go into a full season without a recognised striker is astounding.

Who did we still have that season when we lost Berbatov and got loan Campbell in his place? Really can't remember....

I remember the quote from Ramos:

“The club sold Berbatov and Keane, and left us with Defoe and Bent...without strikers.”

If appointed, Dyche will do a good job there I think. Two year project to stabilise them in the top 8 again. Whether he's got the credentials to take them further we will have to see.

Dyche is going to get eaten alive there. The owners and fans expect the club to be in the top 6 and he's never going to achieve that.

They are more worried about avoiding relegation than top 6 I think, looking at their forums. They're in danger of dropping down if someone doesn't come in to stabilise the club.

Dyche will build from the back and lay some foundations at least.

If they really expect that then they're going to be disappointed either way, even if they get a better manager in it's very difficult job to break the current top 6, let alone consistently.

Seven goals in ten games tells the tail, they couldn’t do any worse by sticking Rooney up top on his own....
This was what I was thinking. Far from ideal but its where Rooney has played most his career. However, it turns out Rooney no longer sees himself as a striker.
