Barkley as he would solve a lot of problems.

Shaw would be interesting for the summer as part of a deal which sees Rose go the other way. The emergence of Davies allows for this, same as last season with Trippier/ Walker, and Shaw has a high ceiling. At 22 Rose was going nowhere fast remember, and they are about as injury prone as each other. We’d spin a profit overall, replacing a player who wants out with a player who will be dedicated to our manager.

If we swap Rose with Shaw, we would require a load of cash in addition. Shaw's only got one year left on his contract when it's summer '18.

Pertinent and realistic

I don't think signing Sessegnon is very realistic at the price Fulham want for him. Everton won't want to sell Barkley to us in January especially if they are in relegation trouble. I don't think they liked the way we negotiated and would rather sell to another club than to us. It's going to come down to Barkley imposing his will on the club.

This may be completely off topic but does Barkley come across as a little dumb? I remember reading something about him lacking a footballing brain and that he was not able to adapt do different situations in a game. This may be total bs ofc and Poch could probably coach the hell out of him but i do believe intelligence of the field is linked to good decision making on the field - you do not need awful a lot of it in football in general but in some roles (playmaker) it can be handy.

I'd be happy with any of these, can only see Barkley happening in January though.
  • Ross Barkley
  • Wilfried Zaha
  • Ryan Sessegnon

Not sure that is really true. I've seen Sheringham interviewed a few times and he doesn't come across as particularly bright.

Players who are intelligent on the pitch see the game in a different way. They play off instinct which comes off partly as the way they train.

Barkley has displayed good on the field instincts by being one of the highest chance creators in the league, his academic intelligence has nothing to do with it.

I think his price will be determinedmore by who is interested in him than what Fulham want for him.

If a host of top clubs are in for him then a bidding war can begin and they'll get top dollar. If we're by far the best side then we can have more of a say in the price.

I don't believe Fulham are particularly wealthy so cannot afford to turn down a really high bid as they are not in the promotion chase this season but should be out of the relegation scrap.

Probably not a January signing though. .

Sancho must be really pissed to have missed the World Cup.To bring him back for 10 mins off the bench was poor by Dortmund.Hopefully will cause a rift. Will be Barkley or nothing imo.

Making his debut for Dortmund was a big deal to be fair

Barkley would be immense for us I think. Bring him in now and then he has half a season to bed and a full preseason.

Zaha would be the final piece of the jigsaw for me.

Me too but I think we have missed the boat with him. He signed a new contract in the summer out and palace would be demanding big money £50m plus imo, which I I doubt we would entertain

If they get relegated that situation might change.

Not for me.

Personally, (but what do I know) I'd like to see Shaw out on loan, playing regularly from January to May and if he looks solid and doesn't break down then I'd consider some sort of deal for him with Rose going the other way.

How far has our squad come when I couldn't give a crap if we dont buy anybody in January.
Never thought I'd see the day.

Fkin media trying to palm Shaw off on us so Man U can pick away at our squad.
Piss off.
We need Shaw like a dose of the clap.

Probably not one for this Jan, but for the summer, I would love to see us go balls to the wall for Charly Musonda at Chelsea.

Has been one of their highest rated prospects for years, but as is standard with Chelsea, he doesn’t get the minutes. His contract runs until 2019 so in the summer he’ll have 12 months left, Chelsea may opt to cash in if he wants to leave instead of losing him for nothing.

Chelsea have shown with the Matić deal, Cech deal etc, they are not overtly abject to selling to a ‘rival team’.

I believe that he represents Belgium at a national level too, could slide right in at Spurs, is young, hungry and ready to light shit up. (Don’t know who saw him play when he was at Betis on loan? Such a talent!)

Pipe dream, but stranger things have happened.
Technically brilliant, physically and maybe mentally not ready for Premier League, I think. Probably, maybe like an N'Koudou upgrade.
