Not only was he very good last night, but his marshalling of the line and demanding more and more of his teammates was a delight to behold. This guy should be our captain.

He's quietly putting together a very good season imo. Still only 23 as well.

I think people forget this because he's pretty much been a starter from day 1, he'll still be learning every game and playing in big matches like this are important in that.

Really hope Southgate is watching just what he does as a CB, far more important to have him in the back line, than in CM for England.

Honestly forget he’s 23 always think of him as 25/26.Bit like davies as well.Very glad we didn’t sell in summer,Honestly I’d have taken the money. He Obviously hasn’t grown over the summer but he just seems bigger,Maybe Just a confidence or presence.I do believe poch is right and CB will ultimately be his best position.Happy to say he has majorly improved since end of last season.

Totally agree. Poch is right, he could be an amazing CB for decades if he just committed to the idea.

I reckon he had a good game to day and had some excellent interceptions - a bit King-esque - against a Zaha on fire.
He's certainly proved his doubters wrong (even if they may not want to admit that).
What a great asset he's to Spurs.

Reminded me of Ferdinand today. The aggression and leadership. Can see why Man U wanted him.

Very good protecting the defence in midfield, but he’s a beast at CB.

Bit disappointed that the bromance between Alli and Dier seems to have died down. Would like to see more piss balling about from them both lol. Brilliant double act.

If he is wise enough, he should take this opportunity to go full-time at CB. Given England's weakness there, he'll be first choice for quite a while.

So weird how your view on a player can change in a moment.Honestly thought he was lumbering oaf.Now think he could be one of the great CB lol.

He should be an automatic pick for an England back three, but I'm not confident he will be.
