A squad lacking any real pace to get in behind teams that press or park the bus.. We are easy to set up against whether that is to play like Arsenal or Swansea

Proper old school Spurs. Didn’t think we played like that anymore. Looked like a team that had never played together before.

Sanchez was the pick, tried his hardest and made an epic tackle that should never have been a free kick

There were some real bad ‘uns today tho. Alli, Dembele, Eriksen, Dier, Vertonghen, Davies - I don’t think any of them played well.

But Poch, got to ask what the plan was. Hoping some others on here saw something I missed. Just looked a mess

We may cling to the equal looking stats and iffy decisions but you could see with your eyes from the first kick that Arsenal were better and more up for it today

And yet last two seasons we’ve broken our points tally record each year.

I agree we lack pace to stretch the bus parkers but that would only work if the bus parkers come on to us...which they won’t.

Where we do lack sometimes, and just look at the goals city score, is speed of thought. Moves break down for us when players take that extra touch.

But to say we are easy to play against is a bit extreme..

I genuinely cannot believe anyone is choosing today to have a pop at Sissoko. He and Sanchez were the only ones who turned up. Arsenal were simply much better than us, blaming Sissoko is just lazy

Agree. Sissoko is not really talented. But he at least knows what he needed to do in a NLD. Most of our players do not really want to win this game (unlike the arsenal players), but not sissoko. Most of them (not sissoko) don't even bother to press or run extra miles to get the ball. This is the difference between us and Arsenal today.

Sanchez MOTM.

Poch fucked up. Should have played Winks and Dembele from the start. Sissoko although working hard doesn’t have the composure for a midfield battle like that. We needed quick and accurate passing from midfield. Not singling Sissoko out as everyone bar Sanchez was poor but he wasn’t the player we needed on the field today. Oh well on to the next game. Boys need to get their shit together.

Over reaction here is pretty remarkable.Yes we weren’t at our best. However but for 2 well 3 awful ref decisions we would have got a decent 0-0. Agreed not our best, but some remarks in this thread are laughable.Game For game we are still 1 pt ahead of our best ever season.

Pretty sure zidane thinks the sameo_O

Tbf Madrid didn’t even try pressing us until the last 20 mins. They certainly didn’t park the bus either. We really do struggle against teams that park the bus. Poch needs to find a way to counter this. More and more teams are playing like that against us.

Sanchez MOM. Prefer to see him in the middle. Alli was really poor. Needs to stop falling over and get on with playing the game.

I don't get why dier is in the middle when Toby is out. Seeing as dier was our right back and likes the ball on the ground in don't see why poch switches it up

Winks was major reason we lost. At no point in 1st did have any control. Dembele can not play as a single pivot like winks and dier can.Poch is going with this single pivot, but winks is pretty much only player that can play it effectively.will be really interesting to see what happens when wanyama is fit.

People are really critical and fuck I'm pissed too. But arsene did.his homework and we were tactically beaten today.

Eriksen looked poor but he was barely ever given a second. Tripps was pushed back by kolasnic and struggled To get his crosses deep enough.

Alli was straight up poor. For a guy that is pretty quick he dribbles at the speed of a pissed snail.

Sanchez was head and shoulders above everyone else and the more I see that "foul" the angrier I get.

And I don't like to be bitter and moan about the ref but there were so many cynical fouls from them and the only late one that was pulled up was from monreal.

Hopefully poch uses this to fire a rocket up.their arses

Missed a ball winner in the middle of the park we simply couldn't get hold of the ball, as others have said Davison was on a different level today. Dean was a wanker most of the first half.

We lost because of a combination of injuries to key players, some of whom were actually wheeled out there, a lack of energy, Mike Dean and poor ball retention. In that order.

Sanchez the silver lining, never seen anyone nullify his namesake like that, used it really well too.

Now is not the time to give Sissoko or Dembele grief, they did their jobs.

The front three were so short it was shocking Poch didn't try something sooner, but that pathetic second goal cheers Lino, Hugo allowed them to park the bus and play on the counter, which without Walker and Rose overloading we have little answer to.

Can't wait till next Sat, v a desperate Pulis team, really.
