punkyguy on skyscrapercity: 1. I forget what the actual question was but Levy said "The stadium *will* be ready". Those words with slight emphasis on the "will". No caveats or anything.

2. Someone said the stadium is too small. He was initially to be 56k but is now "around 61 and a half thousand" Exact words. He then said There should be a few more seats in here-and-there before it's finished, which seems astonishing that they are making changes so late. He said that the big issue was transport and intimated that it was really hard to 61k past the council.
People who say it’s too small are living in cloud cuckoo land. Firstly with the travel links, and secondly look at this season, any match that isn’t box office and we have a half full Wembley.

I've been meaning to ask and haven't seen this confirmed anywhere recently. I remember reading that we were going to make the capacity 61,882 obviously to include the year we were founded, but I haven't seen that number since and seen a few hundred fewer. Anyone remember anything about that and can confirm or otherwise

At great risk of being a smug git, I have to point out the five or six times that I have written here that the capacity of the stadium has been primarily dictated by the transport strategy and by how many people can safely be got in and out of the neighbourhood - without having to build a new underground station. That was what dictated the original 56,250 and that is what permitted the redesigned 61,559.

I'm totally un-astonished that they are "making changes so late". As the stadium takes shape, it's plausible that the design team could spot places where a few more seats could be spliced in - or that some areas occupied by seats could prove to be too cramped for other purposes.

Lowest Wembley has been 62k. Not sure on exact ST at Wembley think it’s about 45k so we are selling An extra 20k per game for the lesser PL games. Which is very decent. West Ham are currently struggling to sell 2k for Arsenal. I honestly think we could fill 70 k with say 55k ST. But I’m happy with 61.5k. Still gives it a degree of intimacy with closeness to pitch.

Missed ths post, I believe I read somewhere that this was the intention at one point. Did you come up with this idea or is it based off something you've read before.

Ah, I did a bit of research and it's in this article http://www.talkingbaws.com/2016/11/...ottenhams-new-stadium-consultation-committee/

but nothing else since
Just came up with it, mate. Stroke of genius if you ask me...

Nah, im pretty sure i'd seen it mentioned before but like David says above the capacity has always been dictated by the ability to safely get people in and out of the stadium (or should that be too and from).

I also think Levy wouldnt turn down the chance to add in extra seats given the opportunity. I'm sure he'd rather have 61,883 seats than 61,882 just for the extra revenue.

I may be wrong but wasn't it 62k+ against Stoke last week-end? They certainly aren't box office.

I agree. But we are surely going to be paying more to watch games at the new WHL than we are at Wembley this season. The cheaper tickets at Wembley are definitely helping bolster attendances.

Maybe Levi will introduce lower GA prices for these games, like at Wembley, IF we end up with less spectators and the ground looking less than full. All depends on demand and I can't imagine that being low for the first 2 or 3 seasons unless we implode. The new stadium itself will generate tremendous interest so I'm confident we'll be fine.
As long as we keep progressing with the team/squad's achievements I can't see a problem arising.
All IMHO of course.

Oh yeah we will definitely sell out the new stadium for league games at the new place. how many season ticket holders are there now for a start, 40,000 - 50,000? Plus any Spurs fan will be desperate to go.

"A completion schedule is in place and it is this which informs the degree of confidence. At present, various packages have completed quicker than others but this isn’t necessarily always ideal as there are timing dependencies. A major forthcoming milestone is to achieve full stadium height and it is now anticipated this will be achieved in appromately four weeks time. This is ahead of schedule. Beyond, focus will then turn to elevating the roof structure, a process which has several dependencies notwithstanding plant decommissioning. It is envisaged that activity around the site envelope will remain for a considerable period of time, but this activity will largely focus upon developing the SDL - not the stadium, which will only have very minor legacy activity and largely speaking, this shouldn’t be visible".
