In their current state I don't think they will be able to sign 'very good players'

They're 14th in the richest league in the world, they'll have plenty of players to choose from.

Personally, I don't think their problem is personnel, but organisation, but we'll see.

Partially, but It's also worth remembering that Lovren has to have several injections to get through games these days. They do need to replace him, but the money they're spending is ridiculous.

The top five most expensive defenders in history are now in the prem

Van Dijk
Mendy
Walker
Luiz
Stones

I swear I’d only take Walker at Tottenham! We’ve got 3 centre halves who’d break the record for a defender it seems then
To be fair Mendy is quality but the others, bar Walker, should not be on that list.

Crazy price for a defender not even close to the best in the league. The only times I've really noticed him have been against Spurs; an air kick as Kane beats him to run through and score, scoring a header himself, being beaten in the air by Alli for a goal, and then watching as Spurs scored several more against them last season.

What is Liverpool's obsession with signing players from Southampton?

Good deal for Saints. They must reinvest quickly, which might also mean a new manager.

I said it before and I will say it again we have four better centre halves than Liverpool even with Dick Van Dyke there and one of those normally plays in midfield for us.

However ridiculous the fee he is better then what they have and will strengthen them in their weakest position.

Which is not good news as far as we’re concerned.

Let's see how they fare when the glue (Coutinho) that holds their attack together departs.

As for Van dijk. Bothered not, they've more problems than just requiring a new CB.

Two words... Leigh Griffiths

Three words... Virgil Van Dijk

Those who keep knocking the SPL just bore me if I am honest, football exists outside the top leagues in Europe and we have done well buying players from outside those leagues recently, Ajax - MK Dons for example

Anyone seen much of this lad Everton have signed for £25m? Turkish striker...

I know he has been linked with about 90% of the PL for about 5 seasons now.

The very little (i think i have seen parts of 2 matches he has been in) i have seen of him, i thought he looked a solid player, good movement and a nice shot.

At a minimum he looks like an upgrade to Niasse, i know that's not saying much but it would be an improvement for Everton.

Just about sums up English football. Apparently cant be developed by a mediocre PL team, yet a CL standard German team can seemingly find the opportunities.

One day we will see change...

Reece Oxford going to Leipzig for 19m euros. So much for the Academy of Football.
That's a lot of money for a player that couldn't even get on the bench for Reading most weeks while he was on loan there and on the rare occasions he did play, he looked out of his depth.

Last TV deal and Neymar deal have changed transfer fees completely

Davison isn't far from that list also at £42M

If Leipzig want a good young player of yours it’s probably a fairly good sign that you shouldn’t sell him. But it’s moyes and West Ham we are talking about here so it’s understandable.

Amazing bonucci isn’t on that list considering he was sold in the summer

Oliver Burke went there from a Championship level team as well and that didn't work out great for him either.
