If we manage to get Barkley for around £20 million and also secure Sessegnon either now or in the summer that will be a really fantastic January window. I don't get why some people are underwhelmed by this.

Did i say i know better? I questioned what the turnaround means as I sit in the stands each week and for the last two seasons have seen a player in Sissoko that rarely justifies his play on the pitch. We saw a few better performances early this season but most of the time he looks scared of the ball, struggles to control it and is clearly devoid of all confidence.

He might be the best trainer in the squad, he might have a great attitude and bring a good vibe to the squad, but on the pitch he is massively below par

I am entitled to my opinion and entitled to question what it is he is bringing to the team

So get of your high horse and allow me to have my opinion and thoughts

Surprised André Gomes not mentioned. Barca friend reckons he’s almost certainly leaving this window. Think we came very close in summer. I’d take him on loan with view to buy. If he got back to old form would be a cracking addition still only 24.

When did I ever try and stop you from having your opinion and thoughts?

Aren't I allowed to have an opinion on your opinion? :ROFLMAO:

Versus the power of blind faith? Maybe people come to conclusions based on past experience?

Do managers always tell the truth at press conferences - you know like Bale is not for sale?

Where is the evidence that Levy will turn down £300m? Do you have an extract if the minutes from the last board meeting?
Thankfully I am not a microbiologist to see everything through a microscope to debate for debate sake. All I know you have to be insane to sell Kane at this moment in time.

£20m seems way too high for a player returning from serious injury who hasn't played for months and who will be a free agent in a few months time. Chelsea might throw cash at it but I can't see Levy being that reckless. I think it would be on the high side if he was fully fit, hadn't had major surgery and was ready to go.

Very interesting ITK on Kluivert....
On Barkley - I am starting to think we won't get him.

Not sure about how I feel about the Danny Rose info, I'd rather sell him abroad and just move on from that prick but now I have to kind of support him if he's staying

Would much rather get in shaw and/or sessegnon and maybe they'll be less egotistical

But not as good!

Keeping Danny Rose would be great business. Yeah he was a dick in the summer but he's was the best left back in the league until his injury. Not singling you out at all but some fans seem to forget this.

If KWP isn’t playing games next season then I’m sorry but I have no faith in Poch giving academy players the chance

I don't know if you're being glib, but the number of "funny" ratings you've received indicates no one is taking you seriously.

BUT is Poch's reputation truly earned? In our current 18, only Winks is a Poch academy discovery. Kane is better than anyone ever imagined, but he was already in and around the 18 (Redknapp gave him a debut in the Europa at age 18), and was seeing playing time when Poch arrived. Onomah and CCV are off on loan, and I don't even remember the last time KWP was on the pitch.

Even in Cup games we're seeing a largely first team lineup with the occasional late (really late) cameo from an academy player. But I would suggest that every other manager we've ever had has been at least as youth oriented as gifting a late cup appearance.

All this to say, I think Trippier is bang average and I'd rather be giving KWP time.

Doubt we'll get anyone this window.

So see you all in the summer.

It's definitely a possibility. So for this reason, I will not be frantically checking this forum every three minutes and neglecting my duties as father, husband and paid employee...honest

Thanks for taking the time to pop in and post Daniel. Nice use of yourself in the 3rd person too. Kudos

I’m serious but what I really meant was that if KWP doesn’t make it with us then I wouldn’t trust Poch giving academy players a real chance but I didn’t say that would happen. I hope I’m wrong but the truth is that he’s been here 4 years and Winks is the only player I can give 100% credit to. He should also get credit for making Kane a world class player but would he got the chance if Soldado or Adebayor performed well? Poch has said that he wished he had Dembele when he was younger and he has one in Onomah but is wasting him. So if KWP who’s apparently one of the best players in training and has been good when played and has Trippier who is very limited in front of him can’t get the chance who will?

I defend all our players most of the time but imo Danny gave up that right to be defended by being purposefully disrespectful to his teammates, fans, manager, club for his own gain.Rose was one of my favourite players before the summer I suppose that's why it felt like such a betrayal.

On the being good thing, he was before his injury but he's been shit recently, his crossing is awful, and when you compare him to shaw, shaws been out for ages aswell and is performing better atm and has undoubtably a higher ceiling

If it becomes clear that Danny will be staying at some point, not saying I don't believe herc but even that was a tentative "he might stay", then I'll have to back him but until then I'm not gonna support him for him to then fuck off to united in the summer like we all know he wants to do

Given Poch record at Southampton too, this talk is near blasphemy...

The better a squad is, and ours lest we forget is one of the six best in this country and 15 best in Europe, the harder it is for academy players to get a look in as they have to show a higher level of performance to get a game for us than at most other clubs. I don't question Poch's willingness for a second, especially given his record at So'ton.

I think Herc said that part of the problem in Toby's contract is that he wants to win something/anything. Maybe that's why we are seeing stronger teams than expected in the lesser Cup games. At least if we get dumped out of the competitions the kids aren't carrying the can.

Shaw is on nearly twice Danny Rose's money.
