How on earth do two England batsmen not know they’ve got an edge. Are they that fucking useless that they don’t even know when they’ve hit the ball? :D

Unbelievable and we've still got two referrals!! Those and a dropped catch that was given out!

I'm going to watch the highlights today and enjoy them. I might even watch them twice.

Cos I know what I'm going to wake up to tomorrow!

I've just watched them and a great rendition of Shelf side-Park Lane song during Broad/Cook partnership.

So a draw and a 'winning' draw at that. I predicted a whitewash so am happy to be proved wrong.

A four nil loss it is then :D

Road of a pitch and some senior players woefully out of form heading into the final test, it's one of those classic Ashes tours.

That MCG pitch was a disgrace. And they wonder why the 5-day game is in trouble?

Maybe the ICC need centrally-contracted groundsmen whose job is to ensure test pitches allow for an even contest between bat and ball. Whatever. Just do something to ensure no goddam pitches that send people to sleep for 5 days.

Bring back the days of uncovered pitches!

Crane is must in the next test on a spinning wicket. At the expense of either mo or Curran, im my opinion mo should be dropped as he has offered little with bat or ball and we haven’t taken 20 wickets in a match yet this series so we need to have more options with the ball

the Sydney pitch doesn't really spin like it used to
Yep, totally agree. The days of Sydney turning a foot on the first day are long gone. Ashton Agar has been brought in for Australia and I'd expect him to play. Probably in for Bird. Left arm off spinner that like Lyon get bounce a well as a bit of turn. The bounce is what the English struggled with.

poms have 6 lefthand batsmen, he wont really bother them too much, seems to have been selected on his T/20 form which is ridiculous

I just hope Starc is fit

They will leave the Starc decision late, but yeah he offers something special. Bird was horse shit.

So the Aussies have Starc back and we lengthen our tail.

Hmm. Where to put the money ....

What annoys me is that Bayliss says now the series is lost is the time to have a look at certain players and try something new.

It's not as if we had some world-beating team and formula in place to start with that you might understand them keeping in faith with, so why not be bold at 1-0 or even 0-0 in the series rather than when all is lost?

I'd be surprised if Bayliss even knew who Tom Curran was before he was selected.

Will be watching for an hour or so tonight, but I cannot see anything other than an innings victory for the Aussies. The only thing our selection might do is lessen the pressure that Moeen puts on himself as he'll technically be the second spinner. That's providing Warner doesn't take Crane for 20 in his first over. The SCG is no longer a dustbowl like it used to be, I can see our attack getting plundered in this one.

2 wickets in the last 8 balls of the day.

Root and Bairstow.

Fucking brilliant, England.

Sounds like it was basically a difference pitch with the new ball, swinging around in difficult light conditions. If they were going to lose a few wickets it was going to be in those last two overs.

Assuming Mo doesn't turn his form around the tail will be exposed within half an hour of the start of play. We'll do well to get 300 from here.
